Milwaukee 1986 or so

When I was a kid and in college in the midwest, I saw Gord numerous times at Ravinia. But 1986, I think, he played in Milwaukee, so I drove up from Chicago and made a little cassette recording of the show. Backstage, I met a photographer who took these pix--and we made a trade.

Thought they may be of interest!

WOW... pictures are super. There weren't too many times, if any, that GL looked like this when I saw him.

Great Job... WOW

Circa 1986 would be around the time EAST OF MIDNIGHT was being promoted. I remember seeing him perform your song around that time, Char, as he sat on a stool by himself with only his acoustic guitar to accompany him -- that mesmerizing voice -- so intimate.

Be nice if a version of that exists on the cassette.:headbang:

I loved when he sat on the stool and sang...luverly!!
Who knew all these years later it would end up being 'my' song..!
;)
There's some tv footage of him at Massey sitting on the stool and singing it..somewhere in my treasure trove of goodies...
James probably has it as well...James???

As I recall, he opened the second set on the piano bench, solo, and did "I'll Tag Along", and then Terry joined him for an acoustic version of "East of Midnight".

I also remember Gord singing "Anything For Love" to the backing track of the song, without a guitar on, with the band backstage. Slightly surreal!

I'll see if I can dig up the recording of this Riverside Theater show.

Could it possibly have been 6 June 1987? During that concert he played I'll Tag Along followed by East of Midnight followed by A Lesson in Love.

Yes, must have been 1987. The picture of the marquee confirms it was June 6!
