Re: Bullwinkle sings Gordon Lightfoot!!
I like the fact that the address is at the Haight in San Fran - somebody's still trippin'. Bill Scott (who voiced Bullwinkle) died in 1985. Anybody know who's behind this? And has Gord ever heard it?

I remember when Bullwinkle went to prime time. We didn't have a color TV but the kids three houses up did. I saw the initial Bullwinkle episode and Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color with Ludwig Von Drake playing the color organ. |
Re: Bullwinkle sings Gordon Lightfoot!!
Oh, no I remember the show from the first time around. LOVED the fractured fairy tale segment ("ya gotta SUFFER!" - The Shoemaker and the Elves, I think) mostly because of Edward Everett Horton's narration. I was just old enough to "get" the grownup zingers built into the stories. Laid the path for Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, in a way (and yes, Bart Simpson et al.) In any event it appealed to my warped sense of humor, still does.

Re: Bullwinkle sings Gordon Lightfoot!!
(In a parallel Universe)
While I will be vilified for saying this .... I have to say Bullwinkle's voice is not what it was in the 70's . I will no longer listen to the pale imitation of Bullwinkle's voice . Also without wishing to echo EXACTLY WHAT THE FEMALES ON THIS SITE WERE THINKING I doubt he has the stamina of days of old. His antlers do not seem to stand up and greet the sun like than they once did ... - a fine animal like him should not be shown with that scourge afflicting the ageing of all species. In his case "Moose Droop". Although there seem still to be a few life-long admirers who will hang around back-stage still willing to take a chance and test out the strength of his horns given half an opportunity. Ahhh where was that Shiraz !!! |
Re: Bullwinkle sings Gordon Lightfoot!!
Thank you for the comic relief!!
This is clearly destined to be a classic!! |
Re: Bullwinkle sings Gordon Lightfoot!!
Oh, my word!! Too funny!
I am one of those old enough to remember Rocky and Bullwinkle. Did any of the oldsters notice the six foot, mechanical, metal-munching mice? One of my favorite dialogs of all time on the Bullwinkle show is the two old men who sometimes appeared on the show, sitting on a porch and discussing the scene: man 1: "now there's something you don't see every day." man 2: "what's that?" man1: "a six foot, mechanical, metal-munching mouse." man 2: "Oh, I don't know, these woods are full of mice." |
