wonderful review and anecdotes (there's a bunch of them coming in lately, all nicely and candidly written)... glad you met the Gord even if he was spent....noticed Straw Boss's shirt logo...did you talk about the 'need for speed' with him at all?

i guess cotton jenny or triangle are good warmups but they are always a bit deflating to me...although they may not clear the throat, my fave openers in the past decade have been Spanish Moss and 14K Gold, both set a magical vibe

...when will we invent the autocapo and/or self tuning geetar?

I didn't talk to the Straw Boss because those two nice ladies had waited so long to see Gord and were enjoying their conversation with him. I was content seeing their enjoyment but I did notice his shirt.

Gord cleared his throat during one song and it made all the difference in the world.

Leslie is very protective of Gord and watches everything going on. sorry you didn't get any pics outside tho.
I hope he is still doing Spanish Moss when he hits Massey in November - love that tune!

Just now saw your report, and it was excellent!

I had a great time, too. I agree with everything you said. Words can't describe watching Gordon Lightfoot and his wonderful band live and in person. I really hope to see another show as soon as possible. I heard Mr. Lightfoot remark that this was the first time in 15 years they had been in Charlotte. How lucky for us! I got a concert just when I needed it most. Not to say I won't travel a long distance to see another show, because it would be so very worth it!

Very happy for you that you got to meet Mr. Lightfoot. I would have LOVED to hang around also, but my wife had to be at work very early Friday morning. I was going to take my "United Artists Collection" cd cover and silver Sharpie, but also forgot...

Hate I didn't become aquainted with you beforehand so we could have met up there. Maybe next time! :)
