Hard to understand lyrics
 

There are backing vocals on 2 songs that have bugged me for years.
1: Summertime Dream- Toward the end of the song, it sounds like they say " time for a summer sh________? dream"
2:Talking in your sleep- I believe it's right before the second bridge (I haven't heard it in quite a while). I feel sure if you've heard it, you'll know the part I'm talking about....they keep repeating it through the chord changes, until he comes back in with "I heard you softly whisper."

If this has been brought up before, I apologize in advance. If it turns out to be something easily discernable, I'll change my Username before I ever log on again.
I figured if there was anyone, anywhere, that knew the lyrics, they would be here.

i've wondered the same about Talking in your sleep. didnt someone here years ago said its "stop talking" although it doesnt sound like it?

as for Summertime dream, it sounds like random riff-raff

Well, I'll throw in my two cents. I always heard that Summertime Dream line as "Time for a summer shower". And re Talking In Your Sleep, the Corfid posting claiming Rick Haynes explained it as "Take a potato" may be correct, but I, like Char, always heard it as "Take him or leave him". (By the way, here in southern Australia, after 12 years of drought, it's always time for a summer shower. We hardly even get winter showers now.)

Well, in my head now the "take him or leave him" thing is working. I'll have to get the Summer Side of Life cd out in the morning, for hopefully some sort of closure. I'm tempted to tell my wife I finally figured it out, but she may read this sometime. Thanks for the help.

Just read the links at Charlene's post, but I'm hearing "think of a name..." on "Talking in Your Sleep" and have heard it that way for years and years.
I have no idea what's in "Summertime Dream" other than some unpronouncable doo-wop stuff in the background......

I don't hear "potato" anywhere, unless I'm in the chip aisle at Sobey's. Good thread...
