18 GL Guitar.............It's Back........

The D18 GL guitar is up for bid again on ebay. It is actually bid to 7,750.00 at this time. Wow! I never thought it would bring that kind of money in this economy right now. Here is the url if anyone is interested in watching the price:)

Well spotted guitarman Peter.I see that the auction ended at $7750
and that it Instrument Number 13 of 61. The Serial Number is 794497
I thought you were referring to The D18GL that was repeatedly offered and removed by ebay in what looked suspiciously like a scam, but if you look again at
http://www.corfid.com/vbb/showthread...ighlight=D18GL
ythe auctions had revealed that that example was actually a Martin D-18GL, Number 8 of 61 (Serial Number 794492).
No doubt Valerie is keeping up with this latest activity in her D18GL register?? or was 13 hers??? No Val is I possibly now back in Saratoga Springs NY not Penn Yan NY village which is up near Rochester

Yes, I made note of #13, whose original owner I don't know, selling on Ebay. The other one you are refering to - #8 - was a sunburst, and I believe the seller (also in upstate NYS) claimed to have a total of five of D-18GLs, only one of which was a sunburst. At least, that's what I think he said in his Ebay ad. I don't have a note that it actually sold, but I don't always remember to check.

I am actually back in Colorado. The house is still for sale, so I decided to move back for awhile.

Mine is #22, signed in black, not silver. I find it interesting that the seller of #13 seems to think there are as many as 10 that are hand signed. I find that hard to believe, since none of the others whose owner I know has the guitar signed. Makes me think that the people who had it signed did so only for resale, although that certainly wasn't my reason! As posted on my web site, here's mine:
