The Way I Feel
Just heard a very nice version of this GL song by a defunct English Folk/Rock outfit, Fotheringay, featuring the late lamented Sandy Denny. Anybody else heard this version?

I remember Sandy Denny, but I don't remember Fotheringay.

Yep. Have it here in front of me. It's on a double album titled "Fairport Chronicles by Fairport Convention." Many interesting references included in this package. It says: "The Fotheringay arrangement of Lightfoot's "The Way I feel" is also included and offers both a preview of later Fairport lineups in the presence of Trevor Lucas and Jerrry Donahue, and yet another aspect to Denny's harmonies. Donahue's jangling guitar intro and
crackling lead are highlights, as is Gerry Conway's explosive drumming." I always enjoy listening to different versions of Gord's songs. Nice to see how far they've traveled. Ron J. |

Whoa, flashback time. I remember Fairport Convention, though I was more of a Pentangle listener. Fotheringay was the group formed by Sandy Denny after leaving FC. The group last one year and one completed album, with a partial. See the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fotheringay

Re: The Way I Feel
Thanks Annie. Sandy Denny died much too young. I love listening to her voice in my collection of "Fairport" and also as a solo artist. She was fond of Gibson guitars as well. Ron. J.
