Question for Char or Ron M ?
 

I was wondering what happened with the wonderful work Ron did with putting our names next to the concerts we were at in 2007 ? Is it something "Lightfoot" will be looking at ? Did not hear anything of it as of late. I also think it would not be a bad idea to have that concert list w/ the Corfidians names posted here on Corfid. I thought it looked pretty good. Just wondering ! :)

I believe I added the tally/percentage figure in my XMAS card to Lightfoot..

Thanks for posting this....it's kind of interesting for me to see where you all landed last year for shows.
Looks like Indianapolis was a good spot for some of the ladies. Maybe I will get to meet some of you in person one of these days.

I am going to try to break that record. It is not to be "showy", just a personal record I want to try to break. My husband is a really nice man and after 18 years we still share all our adventures together.

Your posts are always interesting and filled with kind words. Thank you for being a kind person who is just "out there". :biggrin: (I mean that in a very good way).

Well now just for the record so to speak
I doubt if in 2008 we will break our own record from 2005,even though a clash of interests prevented our seeing Gord even once in 2007,so we certainly have some making up to do! But then we did get to see three down under fans instead last April.In 2005 to make up for the two "lost" years (2003/2004)
we managed to attend exctly half of that year's 34 concerts see details on:-

As far as this year goes, so far we have tickets in hand or being organised for 9 concerts and are hoping for more "local" concerts to be added as so far there is only Wolftrap VA and Glenside PA

From 1968 to 2006 a very amazing list of Gordon Lightfoot concerts. But as I told you many times before John you are so lucky to have seen him in the 60's. I did not get to see him April 03,1969 at The Moncton High School Auditorium, tickets were $3.00. I was not driving yet, and I was living 30 miles from Moncton in those days. Could not convince anyone to take me to see that poet which I was really getting into his music. (I seemed to be the only one.) But I do have an audio CD, of the concert he did in Charlottetown of that year, thanks to a great Corfidian which doesn't want to be mention, which was probably the same show he did in Moncton. When I listen to it, I always think that's the concert I missed. At one point he tells the audience in Charlottetown about Kris Kristofferson's "Me And Bobby McGee," saying that Roger Miller murdered the song.{Im assuming that it's a good thing to murder a song?} And of course we all know that when the new Album came out, "Sit Down Young Stranger" Bobby McGee was on it.

After 1969 Lightfoot only return to Moncton in 1990, :( and then 2007. :redface: But I got to see him in 1987 in Halifax, NS. He quit drinking labor day 1982.

So I really missed out a lot, the 70"s, the famous "Sundown" years, the drinking days, all something I would give an arm, :redface: well ok maybe a leg, because I love to play guitar too much to give an arm. :biggrin: to be able to return to the 70's. I always said I was born about 5 years to late and in the wrong province. I find Char so lucky, to be living as close to Gordon and Massey Hall, as she does, and she is about my age too. Sometimes life just ain't fair... :biggrin:

Thanks for the invitation, Kathy Number Four...sounds like it would be a wonderful experience. I don't think I could get away from the kids, kitties and my poor sick dog for very long though.
I am planning on going to the Star Plaza/Merrillville show so let me know if any of you are coming there.
I can not only give you a bed but a warm, fuzzy creature to sleep in it with you...lol.
