Sadly, I could not find any articles about Gord or even a short acknowledgment of his birthday in any of the major Toronto or surrounding area newspapers. Even the Orillia Packet & Times ignored hometown son Gord over an article on Celine Dion. Only the CBC mentioned Gord by referring readers to it's archives.

Hey, Yuri Gord's birthday was mentioned in our local paper page 2 where celebrity birthdays are listed each day. I have a niece who shares Gord's birthday as well, so the 17th is well represented here.
