Rocker John Mellencamp greets country singer Faith Hill during a news conference in Indianapolis yesterday to promote the National Football League's opening kickoff concert. The concert will take place before the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints open the new NFL football season today. Hill, who performed Saturday in Moncton at the Country Rocks the Hill concert, will sing the opening theme song for NFL Sunday Night Football this season on NBC.

TONIGHT: John to Play NFL Season Opening Kickoff 2007
THIS Thursday, Sept. 6 at 8 PM ET, John will perform inside the RCA Dome in Indianapolis as part of the celebration of the NFL season opening kickoff game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints. John's performance will be televised live by NBC as part of their pre-game coverage. Faith Hill, Kelly Clarkson, and Hinder will also perform at a free concert in downtown Indianapolis as part of the pre-game festivities. John will perform somewhere between 8 and 8:30 PM ET.
