Lena Horne turned 90 years old today and it's certainly great to see she's alive & well. :)
She's one of the classiest ladies from the golden era of Hollywood, especially the movie "Stormy Weather". She's a great presence in that film and there's never been a singer like her before or after the fact. She also demonstrated in that film that an African-American woman can be just as beautiful & classy as any other woman or person in the world. Like many my age,I first saw her on Sesame Street singing,"It's Not Easy Being Green" to Kermit. :) Happy 90th Lena. You've sure earned it. |
i remember watching her on Ed Sullivan..mygoodness that woman was extraordinary..
happy birthday to her!!!!!!!!!!!! |
She still is Char. :) I recall her appearence on The Cosby Show when it's Cliff's Birthday and he doesn't want to go home after meeting her! LOL! :D
She sings a great song in that one,i think it was called,"I'm Glad There Is You". ;) I'm glad there's this site and all you guys. :) |
She is incredibly attractive, even being 90, which she doesn't look anywhere close to that age. What talent. I watched the tribute to Ed Bradley, he was speechless trying to interview her. What a beautiful exchange between them.

She had Ed on the ropes..it was mesmerizing to watch...she had and still has the power!
Classy all the way... |
My word, 90? She's ageless!
|
She sure seems ageless, she made "Stormy Weather" in the early 1940s w/Cab Calloway! :) That seems like an eon from this time.
