Real scenario here.
 You get a new job, they give you the day that you start....it turns out "Deal Or No Deal" is holding contestant try outs in your town the very same day! They were here in town today 4/10 but hey, lucky me...I started work! Aaaaagghh!! |
There goes your chance at your 5 minutes of fame.

Bad luck on that one. Isn't this like your 4th new job recently ? What happened to the last one and what will you be doing now. hotel host with the most, chair-man of the board, in-bound telepro... It's getting hard to keep up...
Bill :) |
"ladies please"...for an episode I think they should have 26 ugly bettys strut down those stairs, gotta adore her and that writing/casting
yeah, ditto, BW - sincerely, goodluck with this gig, BS if it's a stinker, are you smarter than a 5th grader? ;) JJ ps) btw, what happened to Show Me the Money? loved Shatner and those dancers even though it was the most ridiculous thing I ever saw, but no more so than that Deal or No Deal crud...I do admit I DVR it but later get thru it in 3 mins, whereas it takes me nearly 5 mins to get thru Idol...yeah, obviously my still waters run shallow:) |
B-stone should get his CDLs; you don't have to do any hard labor-work then. :D
|
My father was a farmer most of his life, and it was hard work... long hours, 6 or 7 days a week. He was one of the most physically fit men I've ever known. In the late '80s, he sold the farm, and by the mid '90s was doing long hauls. Within 5 years he started having health problems. In the late 90s, he had a heart attack. On 11/1/01, he had an AVM, a ruptured artery in his brain, and passed away one month later, at the age of 67.
My point is, hard work is better for the health. He'd probably still be around had he kept farming. |
B-stone, that is funny stuff. I had a long day at work and you just cracked me up. Thanx. Deal or no Deal, do you just love it. Howie hot stuff. If you get a chance rent his stand-up stuff, it is great. He is a funny funny guy. No swearing or rudeness just a true genius.

It's the same company Bill,I've been transferred to their downtown locale,in a newer position.
I'm in an assistant managing position. Not the greatest pay but certainly not the worst. As for "DOND",I guess I'll have to send a video-tape. :rolleys: If I can find a VHS camera, they dont accept "discs" for some reason. |
If I could choose between a game show and my job after today, it would be the game show no doubt. Jobs come & go but a game show !!! I always wanted to be on the old $25,000.00 Pyramid.
So if anyone out there wants to trade my job for a shot on a game show I'd have to say DEAL ! LOL. Jobs - can't live without 'em, can't live with 'em. Bill :) |
I know for a fact that farming is a healthy, if unprofitable, way to earn one's living. My father was a dairy farmer (onerous type of farming)and he lived to be 93. My brother and I knew it was all over for him when he quit farming to sit with my mother who was in a wheelchair from a stroke. Alzheimers set in very quickly for my Dad and he died 2 years later.

Hi Borderstone,
Congradulations on your new job. I am very happy for you. :) I hope I can still find you when I come to Phoenix in a few months. :D |

Borderstone, if you do present an audition tape, perhaps you could use Lightfoot as a twist. I saw one guy who picked numbers based on the uniform number of his New York Yankees heroes. What numbers you might use for Lightfoot, I do not know. Any ideas ? |
Hey T.T. :) Howie Mandel being bald actually makes him look more believable and serious. if you're going to host an intense game show like this one,you need to be taken seriously.
That's the main reason he ditched his former do. he was a good comedian but from what I recall, even after being on St. Elsewhere,Hollywood didn't really offer up much. Last thing I recall before "Deal",was some lame short lived variety show in the summer of 1994. We all gotta grow up sometime. ;) Thanks for the Congrats Rose. :) Don't worry,I can usually be found somewhere in Phoenix sometime. If I'm at the naturist resort though I'll send out a warning! LOL! :D RMDmI'm not at all certain at this time what I'd pick but i know I'd stay away from obvious ones like "7" or "13",seems everone picks those! I don't think it changes one's chances to associate it with anything. Some lady the other night chose one based on her father's birthday and the million was in case 2,her sister's birthday. So,I don't buy into that "relating number" thing. I'd just go with my gut instinct and not doubt myself or overthink. Most of all,not let the banker faze me by this supposed villainy. He could offer up Mariah in person and I'd still say "no deal"! |

RMD,you mean a Gord or Mariah related gimmick? I'm not sure how that would work.
I'd think my own goof-ball self would be gimmick enough. :D LOL! Thanks for the compliment T.T. ...yeah,I have no trouble with it. It makews me feel almost like an innocent, free minded kid again. At the resort, everyone has the same down to earth mind set that it's just the human body and in this sense,we're all equal humans. Irregardless of weight, size, shape, background or gender. It's great to be someplace where one can set aside self-conciusness and relax and recreate. When I'm in the regular world...it's completely impossible not to be self concious, with people judging all of those things whether they say something out loud or not. |
