4 years ago in Orillia Gord took ill.
I am forever grateful that he is still with us..

I'll second that. And from what I've heard lately, he's getting healthier and his voice is getting some of its richness back.

Oddly enough, I was supposed to be in Orillia at that time visiting my family, but I had passport trouble and couldn't get home without worry of getting back into Sweden again. So I postponed my trip till it all got sorted. At the time I was ticked off about not being able to see Gord for the first time in 10+ years. Seems rather trivial now, considering what happened to him.

Good Health to one and all...

It's been 4 years, since a good part of us had a bad scare. But hope, he will continue to share his music genius, with all who love him, for a long long time to come.

Good health, Peace & Love, Gord...~Jesse~ :)

I heard someone on this site say that the majority of the time you don't survive an anneuryism. I know Cathy had one and she's still with us too. Lots of good fortune. :)

I was in Orillia to see the shows, I could have gone and visited your family for you! Instead I went to the lakes and Casino Rama since the concert was cancelled. I missed meeting Char there too, but I think I saw her.

Very thoughtful of you, B. I wasn't on this board 4 years ago, but had I been, I certainly would have taken you up on your offer.

after the cancellation we headed back to Whitby...worried sick about Lightfoot.

Geeze we could have all met up had we known

Which is why I always suggest posting seat numbers -

But then again some people like to stay in the SHADOWS...

Bill :)

I had signed up as a member a year before the shows, but didn't post until after I came back from Orillia. I was a bit intimidated by the whole concept of a discussion board.
We heard nothing about him here in Colorado so this is where I got my information after he was sick.
Working my memory here, I think Val first had told me about Corfid and if I remember right Big Barry asked me if I had ever heard of Corfid when they played in Denver (now this is relying on an old memory).

Is that the same Barry I asked about earlier?

It had only been a month and two days since i had seen him in concert for the first time, when this occoured.

I couldn't believe it. Here I'd become a major fan of this man's music, seen him sing live and now there was a grim possibility that it would be the "only" chance ever. :(

I remember how Entertainment Tonight made a big deal about a "singing star is rushed to the hospital". They made a big fuss when he went in but did not make a single mention when he got out!

I lost all respect for "ET" after that.

Like the rest of us,I breathed a sigh of relief when he recovered and made his comeback to the stage.
It might sound a bit selfish on our part to be happy he's still recording & touring, but I know he and his family are glad he can still be here at all. :)

Lastly,I am hapy that i can have a second concert experience and maybe, just maybe meet him again...as well as meeting some of you fine people. ;)

See you in January Gordon and God Bless You. :)

Lots of good fortune. :) [/QUOTE]Many people have aneurysms and survive them just fine. It's when they rupture that the survival rate bottoms out. I had a 6% chance of survival, and a 3% chance of being able to live a normal life afterwards. So I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
Of course, a lot depends on the size of the aneurysm, the location, how long after it ruptures that you get treatment, etc.
Life is fairly normal now. I'm again living on my own. I still have short term memory loss, but it's improving steadily.

And we are worried again.
