Hanging out on these boards has me thinking of all the wonderful Canadian music I've enjoyed.
A recent trip to Canada introduced me to: Gordon Belsher www.guernseycove.ca/Bio.asp The Rankin Family and the Red Shoe Pub www.redshoepub.com/history.htm In Saratoga at Cafe Lena (several years ago), I had the great pleasure of hearing the music of Matapat www.matapat.com/ (traditional music from Quebec). The sounds of which bring to mind my visits to Ireland and New Orleans and wonderful traditional Celtic/Cajun/Canadian music. Love that sound! Merci! |
Do you live in the Saratoga area? Some newsgroupers and myself put on a couple of Lightfoot tribute concerts at Caffe Lena a few years ago. Were you there by any chance?

I would have loved the tribute concerts. Any more planned? I'd get myself there. |
Nothing is in the works. It's hard to get everyone together. We're from all over the country... Ed Mullen from Atlanta, GA. Matt Carl from Lansing, MI. Derek Kidd from Palo Alto, CA. Lori from the Orlando, Fl. area. And me from Northern Maine.

Good Luck Cathy I have a CD of you and Derek Kidd, I think is from, Cafe Lena. I might be wrong tho.
Cathy did you check the latest Gordon Lightfoot interview, on General Discussion under Florian. I did not see you post there, doesn't mean you did not check it out, but he speaks about Bob Doidge...Jesse. :) |
Were did you get that CD? From my web site?
Yes, I read the interview. It was a good one. I must have been busy that day and didn't have time to reply. |
