Just to provide a little light relief with some quintessentially British humo(u)r.
I have just emailed our silverheels/Bruna:- Hello again I have just been thoroughly amused by the (Daily)Telegraph's obit(uary) on William Donaldson a.k.a. Henry Root at:- http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.../27/db2701.xml I have the original "The Henry Root Letters" http://www.altair.co.uk/RHTHRL.jpg volume it's hilarious but the obit covers the better bits pretty well. Amongst the obit is this statement which should amuse a few Zimmerman fans here!! "He was also the first promoter to arrange a Bob Dylan concert at a time when the singer was barely known in Britain. "He [Dylan] was sitting in my office one day when I came back from lunch," Donaldson recalled. "I couldn't get rid of the f***er." I sugested to Bru that "perhaps it is now timely for you to resurrect his idea" John [ June 27, 2005, 16:43: Message edited by: fowlesjohn ] |
