He was only 56, how sad. I just heard on the radio today that he was suppose to play at the Country Jam in Grand Junction in June.

He had the real stuff. He didn't just dress like a cowboy - he was one.
A recent friend of mine (from John Stewart's Bloodlines)used to amature rodeo with Chris when they were young bucks up in Pendleton, Oregon - especially come Round-up Time. I spoke w/ Bert on the phone tonite and just let him tell story upon story of those times, most involving Lone Star Beer. Although he hadn't seen his friend since stardom did, Bert wept for the cowboys that were. Back when they lived to be on the bubble. I just know the music. It could not have come from a pretender. CMT had a nice documentary on Chris' career last night. He was quite a character.
