Oma: a Township in Wisconsin!
|
Not sure if the spelling is the same but Oma or a soundalike is German or Hungarian for Grandmother, no offense intended.

No offense taken! To date, I am far from being a grandma....but, I do love the grandma's (Oma's???) that I have! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif
I think the name of the "Oma" township in WI is a Finnish word...but I don't know what it means. There are a LOT of Finnish people up there...my ancestors included. I, therefore, am also of Finnish decent myself. One of my grandmas still speaks Finnish...well, if we coax her into it! |
