Much along the line of the "Showdown" I'm going to post two covers that I've done and let you pick which one you think is the best....
After a fashion I might be brave enough to even face off one of mine against a real Gordon Lightfoot cover (Wait and see...) First...If You Could read My Mind... http://members.myepath.com/rskmjgrossman/readmind.jpg and Don Quixote http://members.myepath.com/rskmjgrossman/dqj.jpg |
Slight edge to Don Q
Don Q
Don Q. love it.
I'm ever so slightly partial to "If You Could Read My Mind". Less than a full point. ;)
Don Quixote. I especially like the silhouettes of Don Q. and Sancho Panza. Great composition!
if you could read my mind
DQ
Don Quixote-that's my favorite Gord-look.
Oooh, this is a tough one since I really like them both, but I'm going to have to go with Don Q.
DQ - the brave warrior on the horse topped my vote.
DQ -- with the exception I find it slightly unnerving that the lance that DQ is holding is going through Gord's eye!!!
I read that as Gord 'visualing' Don Q. I love this cover.
Don Quixote, but the same objection as Sheryl, and even that green bar, maybe if it was lighter. Just a taught, you will do with it what you please. Both good but, Don Quixote...
DQ
I think I'll give this until after this weekend for people to vote. Then I'll declare a winner...
OK OK zoneranger you asked for It Most definitely the DQ.
i am sorry but your IYCRMM does very little for me.I do not like either the colouring or choice of Gord's picture and for once your choice of typefaces/fonts what-have-you is less than inspiring IMHO.and where are the castle, the chains*** and the ghost??? By comparison I offer you the chance to see the relevant quilt square delightfully created by arch-quilter Jenney from this parish in 2000 for the magnificent wedding quilt that she orchestrated and put together with help from "sundown 17" young Diane http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/802...dmymind4rz.jpg John Fowles *** OK I expect Jenney realised that she put the chain around the poor ghost's neck whereas it should have been his feet!! No doubt she will plead "artistic licence"!! |
That's really something! Jenny did that? Wow, a woman of many talents. Jenny, do you take orders?!

Not to mention expert Lightfoot stalker. To see her in action is a joy to behold http://image2.frappr.com/pics4/i/200...15b9ba471ee7b0 I think it is Jenney with the extra "e" in hono(u)r of a previous generation's surname |
It was my mispelling, I knew who you meant.
Now John, you have to show my artistic attempt or I shall sulk! LOL

http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/71/sulk7um.jpg so here is her "artistic" achievement from the famous quilt http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/979...nisland8dn.jpg John Fowles http://simplygraphics.net/members/sm...ggirl3pout.gif They are easier to see on the full sized actual quilt square but Bru even included her trademark silverheels on the sail http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/819...erheels1ya.jpg |
Great shot me sulking, Sir John. :D
Geez, I must have selective memory - that CI painting looked much better in my mind! |
