the first reviews of the tour are already posted at http://www.paul-simon.info/index2.ph...eight=600&ur1=
it sounds good thank goodness we have tickets for the December 7th Continental Airlines Arena concert in Rutherford New Jersey as an appetiser here is the set list from Last Night's opening show in Pennsylvania Old Friends A Hazy Shade of Winter I Am a Rock America It's All Happening at the Zoo Baby Driver Kathy's Song Hey, Schoolgirl Everly Brothers Wake Up Little Susie Dream Let it Be Me Bye Bye Love (with Simon & Garfunkel) Scarborough Fair Homeward Bound The Sound of Silence Mrs. Robinson Slip Slidin' Away El Condor Pasa (If I Could) Keep the Customer Satisfied The Only Living Boy in New York American Tune Cecilia My Little Town Bridge Over Troubled Water The Boxer Song for the Asking The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy) And here is part of one of the newspaper reviews posted on the above site "We based our entire sound on the Everly Brothers, Paul then told the fans. We loved them then, we love them now. That served as the introduction to guest stars Don and Phil Everly, who performed Wake Up Little Susie, All I Have to Do is Dream, and Bye, Bye Love, on which they invited Paul and Art to accompany them. Call them an impromptu super group - they were the hermanos of harmony." ------------------ My Gordon Lightfoot webring starts at http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/lightfoot [This message has been edited by johnfowles (edited October 19, 2003).] |
They're goign to be here in Phoenix next month. I'm going to go if I can. If I have the $ and if I can get the day off from work. I've been listning to those guys since about the time of,"My Little Town". I had no idea who sang it but as with most of my early songs,I eventually found out. I also found out that on the day I was born in 1968,"Mrs. Robinson" was the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Their seperate personalities are sort of a combination of my own. (I'd explain but I only have so much time.) It may be my last chance to see them live. Once and maybe only once. Good enough for me. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif Later! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif

I had hoped to see them here in Toronto but I was disappointed to hear the concert is sold out. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/frown.gif I'd give my left arm to see these guys live.
Maybe they will make a DVD out of this..... hey I'm onto something I'll email their management company lol |
Hi Gord! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif You know,if you got the $$$ to spare, you might be able to catch the show down here in Phoenix. I think they're playing the same place GL did. That being Dodge theatre. I'll have to double check that. Certainly would be worth the trip if I didn't already live here. Like they say on The Price Is Right,"Come On Down!!" http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Later! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif
