"The wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald" is just plain great. The music dynamics seem to put you on board that ship surging onward into the rough waters and the lyrics tell of the solitude and desperation that must have been felt by the crew members. It brings a connection between sailors and everyday people. Oh and "Beautiful" was performed at my wedding by my nephew. The simple way this song proclaims the love shown for another places it along with perhaps two Beatles songs as the best songs ever written.
