I listen tiìo this song almost every day.......hey, friends, i think that this song is not so much appreciated as amuch as it deserve....
It's so beautiful, that melody makes me wanna cry.....it's a masterpiece, i don't know why, but i think that Gordon forgot that song, and that's a shame.
It's unbelievable how much beautiful is this song......

I don't think he's forgotten it - or any other song he's recorded - but it was from another (painful) time in his life. From Wayne Francis' site:
"The heart-wrenchingly beautiful ballad 'If Children Had Wings' was inspired by Lightfoot's ex-wife leaving for France with their two kids to attend school there. One of Lightfoot's (or anyone's) most chilling accounts of life after divorce."

I love that song too but i need to find a CD of "Endless Wire" so I can hear it without the little scratch sounds from my LP.

Sound like it could be a kids movie doesn't it? The title that is. I honestly feel it could have been a hit single.
