I'm sitting here listening to it (checked a country compilation out from my library). I have to say that it's not bad. I'm positive toward Glen's music anyway, but I like it. A little more "orchestral" than the original, maybe?

I too enjoyed Campbell's version. I believe it is on the album titled "The Last Time I Saw Her",the song that Kimberly referred to.

Straying a bit off topic : I've always thought Campbell never received the recognition he deserved for giving songwriters like Neil Diamond, and Merle Haggard national exposure when he hosted his variety show. He knew a good song when he heard it.

I heard Glen Campbell's version before I even heard Gords. I remember thinking at the time that it sounded like a Lightfoot song. I think Glen did a great job with it, I have it on a couple of his albums.

Talking of cover versions,I have acquired the very nice IYCRMM by Johhny Mathis as well as
Glen's and the (to me anyway) nice Streisand and Petula Clark versions among others.

If I remember back correctly I think I also heard Glen's version before Gord's. I used to watch his show all the time and my aunt was a huge fan and played all his albums when I was at her place. She never had any Lightfoot tho. She did see Lightfoot a few times in the Yorkville coffee houses.

Yo! Jeffy Jo! :D I too have Glen's version of "L.T.I.S.H". Mine is on a 1976 "Best of" LP but I recorded it onto one of the many self made GL tapes I made in 2003. I used it and two other Gord covers to fill in time on the last tape.

That's funny, a couple of weeks ago I thoroughly went through my LP collection and found (among several things I'd forgotten I had), my copy of Cambell's "Last Time I Saw Her" and listened again to the GL covers on it. He did a good job with both of them.

I've never heard the Mathis covers before, those would be interesting to hear.

Now, speaking of covers, how many of you have a copy of Jeannie C. Riley's cover of IYCRMM?? I've found my copy while searching through a box of 25 cent used 45's many years ago.

Actually, it would be nice to at least hear an mp3 excerpt, to know what you are talking about.
If anybody with enough web space and reasonable bandwidth could host this for a little while for download ? If one such person and another one having the possibilty to encode this to mp3 could raise their hands, maybe we can get this of the ground ?

I like anything and everything Glen Campbell sang. I saw him interviewed on one of the cable news channels the other night. I think it was CNN.
I like Don Williams' version of IYCRMM, too.

I'm w/ you Cathy. Loved that summer Smother's fill show. Went out and bought me an Ovation - thought I'd play like Glen - didn't work.

I don't know who arranged that contrapuntal duet he did w/ Nancy Sinatra (I think) of "Phoenix" and "Say a Little Prayer for You," but it was masterful.

Don Williams is high on the list, too.

Well ... you got snippets of some golden oldies. Looks pretty good, and I got a laugh with him talking about the capo.

I don't think the Ovation guitar sounded very good. It sounded like a tin can.
He's played Ovations a lot in his career, though Maybe it needed to be plugged into an amp.
