Every Saturday night between 7 & 8.30 Paul Gambaccini presents America's Greatest Hits on BBC Radio 2. He features a Classic Album last nights album was Sundown Paul played 3 tracks Carefree Highway, Seven, Island Suite & Sundown.Well done Paul, I suspect that is the first time Seven Island Suite. has been played on the BBC. I have been banging away at Mr G for sometime trying to get him to feature a GL album. The 3 main ones being IYCRMM, Sundown & Summertime Dream, as they have spurned the biggest hits. I take no credit for last nights offering, as Mr G has never aknowledged any of my emails. However that will not stop me thanking him.

The BBC Radio 2 website has quite a list of Gordon's albums featured, a lot of them have 30 second clips of the tracks. A very good website for any music lover of just about any genre.

While I am here, I was trawling through a bookshop yesterday, one of my favourite activities, when I spotted a Record Collectors book giving the value of various records. I flipped to GL and found that my GL albums are worth about £30 each. It listed IYCRMM at £30. I was surprised it did not mention that album in it's original manifestation (is that the right word)? Sit Down Young Stranger, that, I suggest, would be worth a little more than £30.
