Are there any live songs of Gordon from the 70's available for download? I have done searches in Napster and AudioGnome and nothing except Sunday concert and some covers by pearl jam and some others I've never heard. There must be bootlegs available?

Has this topic been talked about before?

Pearl Jam?. What did they cover?. I've seen Sunday Concert on Napster and that's about it

There are many live songs available - I'm not sure what is available on Napster. But PBS 1973 Made in Chicago, Massey Hall 3-24-74, Live in Montreux 1977 and Avery Fisher Hall 12-12-77 are out there. I have them on CD-R. Good luck.

SuziT - Do you know if there are any videos available of the performaces you mention?

Well, I've done a search of "Race Among the Ruins" and found it on Napster. I don't know if it helps, just thought I'd let you know.

Videos are even more rare than the audio I've listed. I know of no video available of what I listed. The only video that I know of for the 70's is Sound Stage Chicago 1979. Very good concert. I would rank SSC79 third, with Intimate and Interactive second and his latest, Reno Live 2000 the best. Purely subjective ranking.

Do you know how to get a copy of that video? I'd love to have one!

I have a very good copy of Sound Stage '79. But, I haven't seen any for sale in years.

Lightfoot actually recorded a concert LP in the mid-70's. It was shelved because just prior to the concert Gord broke a fingernail and replaced it with a glue-on nail. He just didn't like the way it sounded. Must of us wouldn't have known the difference but he would and he just couldn't live with it.

Gord hosted an installment of "Midnight Special" on NBC in 1974. The show included Maria Muldaur ("Midnight at The Oasis") Redbone ("Come and Get Your Love") and a couple of others who I can't recall at the time.

He also appeared on "Saturday Night Live" in May, 1976 performing "Summertime Dream" and "Spanish Moss".

I don't know how one would go about obtaining these clips in whole or in part.
