As someone who has virtually no intrest in the CD burning technology I can only say that doing so sounds like more trouble than need be. I've always recorded on tape and I really feel no need to change now. I haven't made one for myself yet,but for a friend earlier this year,I made 3 tapes of GL songs that added up to 99 songs! She really likes GL too but can't affford to drop $ for the music like I can. I've debated over wheather or not I should make myself one but I usually conclude that I have all of his recorded material,so I just end up not doing it. I think the 20 I would choose are alreay on Complete Gr. Hits & Songbook anyway. It's been me,outta here & A.B.! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

cd burning is so much easier. You just put a bunch of songs on your hard drive then you can choose the sequence just by hitting an up or down arrow until you get the track list just the way you want it. The best thing is, at least on my computer, it takes about 30 seconds to record a 3 1/2 minute song, you dont have to sit there while it takes the entire song length as it does with tape. After your done, just delete the songs off your hard drive, and you get that free space back to do other things. I love it!

I still tape my CD's cuz I have a 14 year old car that came equipped with a handy dandy cassette player! I also 'backed up' some of my favorite cassettes. I've burned CD's of Songbook and Sunday Concert so they don't get messed up and play the copies. Random taped Songbook 'for the road'.
I have a whole basket full of unmarked tapes by my door so I can grab a couple or three to play in the car. The surprise is really fun. Never know whether it's going to be Gordon or Waylon or Joan Baez or Neil Diamond singing to me on the way to work! Oh, and for the record...most of these umnarked tapes are sung by Gordon Lighfoot http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif I don't think I could pick 20 songs for a CD cuz my favorites change from day to week to month. Good luck to the rest of you who try. SheilaB |
