Another song that has started confusing me lately. Does anyone know what the lyrics mean? (Good song, though)

DMD3,I just read the lyrics to,"Saturday Clothes",and it's pretty simple. In part of a verse he mentions "if his girl were here" meaning he's got no one to be with,of course. So,he now invites his friends over each weekend to help fill the void left by her. How he really feels though is miserable because the phrase Saturday Clothes is also a reference to putting on a brave face with his friends in the midst of a party atmosphere. In talking about actual clothes,he's saying he has no reason to get dressed up for the weekend because his woman left him (or maybe is just out of town.) After the party,he's down again.
