Hi everyone, I finally registered, and my first posting is simply a request for info. on the health of GL and what he has been doing over the past 6 months or so. Is he playing any gigs lately? The last I heard on here was that he was going to be coming out with another new album. ...my respect to those who served or lost loved ones in war.

Welcome, knightmoves!

First, yes, Gord has a new album coming out shortly after the first of the year (in January or February - no release date yet announced.) It will be called "Twenty", as in his 20th album.

As to his health, he's getting out and around and looking good (see recent posting elsewhere here on Gord pics) but is still very much recovering from past surgery and faces more in the new year. His surgeons are going to try and rebuild his abdomen using muscles from his thighs. At the moment he cannot sing (or at least hold a note more than three seconds, he says) but if this surgery is successful - and it will take several months before they know for sure one way or the other - he plans on touring again in 2005. Needless to say we all have our collective fingers crossed for the doctors, and for Gord's continuing good health. He's concentrating on eating well, building the leg muscles, and strengthening his immunity. Scroll through some of the posts from the last couple of months (Char put up the Globe and Mail article - October 11, I think - great interview.)

thanks for the comments knightmoves (cool name). There are many comments here to read so enjoy! I am encouraged that the man is doing well. I pray he has enough...
I too would like to say today is veterans' day and I have thought long and hard about our men and women in harms way today (I do every day, but, today I verbalize it a lot more at the many veterans' events I attend and speak at. May you know that your loved ones are appreciated those who serve or who have loved ones serving. For those who have lost loved ones remember they are in a far better place. We remember them each and every one, each in our own unique way. Thanks to you all. God bless America.
