Since to most of us Corfidians, Gordon Lightfoot Is # 1. Have you got a # 2 Canadian singer, that would be # 1, if there were no Gordon Lightfoot. What a terrible thing to even think off ,No Gordon Lightfoot... :D :)
http://www.upstagemagazine.com/event...nLightfoot.jpg For me # 2 Canadian singer songwriter, Bruce Cockburn. http://cockburnproject.net/news/imag...imsallaway.jpg American # 1 John mellencamp http://us.movies1.yimg.com/movies.ya...p/sundance.jpg [ July 09, 2006, 17:20: Message edited by: Jesse -Joe ] |
#2 Canadian? Bryan Adams! Saw him in Aug. 1985 in concert and he brought the house down! Yeah! I even dressed like him for the show! :D
Ah,to be 17! :) I have no American male singer fav. or American group for that matter. Too many to like. ;) |
My choice would be Joni Mitchell. Her catalogue is very impressive and she is a truly great songwriter. If Gordon is Canada's unofficial poet laureate, I nominate Joni for the title of poetess laureate! :)

Stan Rogers, without a doubt. A great songwriter...and that booming baritone! Can't help but wonder about all the music he would have given us had he lived.
|
Dear Stan Rogers, May we never forget him. Were the words of Adrienne Clarkson, after narrating a program about him.'One Warm Line.' But I hate to admit I had forgot about him.
Very good choice Halocat. :) Burton Cummings & Randy Bachman, two more greats. :) |
Anne Murray. She rivals Gord as the top Canadian musical performer.
|
While I never actually followed her career, I'd have to go along with Anne Murray. I do have a few of her albums and love them.
