I will never forget the concert. Gordon walked on stage alone and stepped up to the microphone with an article from a newspaper about the Edmund Fitzgerald. While he was speaking to us, his band came on stage and quietly sat down. As he finished Gordon said, "and now I'd like to introduce my band." All of the band members got up and shook hands with each other and sat back down...I'm smiling right now as I think about it. And, the concert was great. I love the guy.

Wish I could have been there.

Hi,JimInPhoenix! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif Borderstone here! (otherwise known as WalterInPhoenix). I have a brother named Jim myself! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/eek.gif Welcome aboard! I know the feeling of seeing Gord live, although it was just less than 2 years ago.
He played in '02 at the Dodge theatre on Washington Ave.-did you happen to attend that one? If you did,you most likely heard some guy down front shout out,"Hail Hero!" http://www.corfid.com/ubb/redface.gifYep,me! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif I live on the NW side, almost in Glendale. What's your neck of the woods? Have fun here! Aurevoir! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif ------------------ "A knight of the road, going back to a place where he might get warm." ;) - Borderstone |

Hey Jim! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif That was such a cool concert wasn't it? I was first seated in the 10th row but when I noticed there was almost no one near the front,I moved up! Although I didn't dare attempt to get into one of the closer foling chairs at the foot of the stage!
Did you stay after for the autographs,it was Tuesday night so I know most folks didn't. So cool to meet andshake handss with him and his band members and then of course, the signings! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I know your area quite well! When my family moved here in 1980 (I was 12) we lived over on 48th St. 1 block South of Cactus Road,an easy walk to the P.V. Mall. In more recent years, after returning here to the Metrocenter area, many times I have taken the 138 by there on my way to the mall. I get tired of the 106 bus! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/tongue.gif I especially went through many times in '02,hunting for GL records at that little shop that's next to the Target store. That's where I found my copy of "Dream Street Rose". I don't know if the LP's may still be there right now but just 2 weeks ago,I saw a Shadows LP there,a UA Best of GL LP and "Lightfoot" from '66. No matter if you got a turntable, they're worth buying! I have my own already of course. Type at ya next time Jim! Later! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif ------------------ "A knight of the road, going back to a place where he might get warm." http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif - Borderstone [This message has been edited by Borderstone (edited May 17, 2004).] |
