Is Gordon Lightfoot currently married?
I know he went through a divource after the,"Endless Wire" album.Did he ever re-marry?

He remarried about 16 years ago or so and has been separated for a almost 3 years i think....
"separated but not divorced" as he said several times at Massey last May...

He has a daughter with Elizabeth - Meredith who will be 12 this year and a son Miles who will be 14, maybe 15 I think....

fred and ingrid with Brita, eric with Cathy Coonley, miles and meredith with Elizabeth - there's been mention of a possible 6th around Eric's age (22/23) - Galen Magee born before eric and after Ingrid??? He is mentioned in SONGBOOK.

Galen would be 28 or 29 now, wouldn't he? I seem to remember he was 26 years old, about three years ago. Or maybe he was 26 when APPT came out.

"While he battled the bottle, Lightfoot spent a chunk of his career dealing with turbulent relationships, including a two-year affair with Cathy Smith in the sixties, the Hamilton woman who was convicted in 1985 of administering the fatal drug overdose to comic John Belushi. Lightfoot is not eager to discuss that chapter in his life. "When you talk about all those things like that, they affect the new things that have come into your life," he says, looking at Elizabeth.

Instead, Lightfoot is more than happy to talk about his children. There are six: Fred, 34, and Ingrid, 32, from his first marriage to a Swedish woman named Brita; Gaylen McGee, 22, a student living in
Los Angeles; Eric Lightfoot, 15, who lives outside of Toronto; and Miles, 8, and Meredith, 3, from his current marriage. Lightfoot is also grandfather to Ingrid's two children: Amber, 9, and John, 7.

"I might be able to eventually, but I'm not thinking about it right now, that's for sure. I'm still working."

I believe he mentioned somewhere or other that Eric is a musician, though of his own kind of music. He'd be about 21 or 22 now.

"During the interview, Lightfoot politely excused himself twice to talk with his 18-year-old son, Eric, who was visiting him. Eric is starting an alternative band in Toronto.
Asked whether his son is interested in playing his father's music, Lightfoot replied, "He's not into that kind of trip. He's into his own trip."

I think you will find his relationship with Cathy Smith was in the early 70s.

I remember finding a picture of Eric on the Internet a few years ago. He was on a sailboat with a few other people. I suppose I could still find it if I had a good reason to sit in front of this PC and look, something I seem to find less and less enjoyable lately.

Cathy, if you feel so inclined sometime, it would be interesting to see the photo. Eric on a sailboat ... shades of 'CHristian Island' spring to mind ...

Did I understand corectly? Is Gordon separated from Elizabeth? How many times was he married, I always taughtit was 3.

He is still married to Elizabeth but they are separated. He mentioned this several times in May at Mazssey Hall.. He was married one other time - his first wife Brita passed away last May. She was mother of Fred and Ingrid. He had a long term relationship with Cathy Coonley and they had Eric.
So he married only two times.

Yes did know that Brita was his first wife and mother to Fred and Ingrid. Didnt know she passed away, too bad for that . Did know about Cathy Coonley and Eric. But what about Cathy Evelyn Smith, I know from the book, "If You Could Read His Mind," they had lots of fights , the one that made me laugh, is when he pushed her head down the toilet. I hope this doesnt get me in trouble, this of course was during in his drinking days.
