When you went to first concert of Gord's what did he play first? Or (for you non-concert people) what would you have liked to hear for the first song for your first concert?

I think it was Minstrel of the Dawn, but after almost 30 years I wonder about my memory!

Hah-hah! Tee-hee! Hoot! ROFLOL!! C'mon Gwen, you've got to be kidding! I can't remember what I had for lunch today! Wait...did i have lunch today?

"Triangle"...in 1990.

gwen snyder 03-22-2003 11:12 PM

Yeah, you could be right Somewhere. My daughter saw this topic and before she saw that I had initialized it, she said "now, that's just cruel to ask a bunch of people your age to remember the first song of the first concert they ever attended" Then I checked and read your comment and she was sitting behind me and said "How cruel, mom". Then I went over to the other post the one that said something about "trianlge and she said, "no mom, go back up so I can see what that is about", I went back up and she said now I know I am going to go hurl." So, Borderstone you have one person on your side who believes this topic is go-sh.lol, fdlol.

It was April of 1976, right before Summertime
Dream was released and he opened with
Race Among the Ruins.

Now I'm really gettin' worried! Some of you in my generation....like Rob1956 (I presume the 1956 refers to birth year? Mine is 55)...CAN actually remember! Does this confirm that I really am suffering from Alheimer's? Gwen, you're killing me here!

SomewhereupinMichigan 03-23-2003 09:12 AM

Well, obviously I've forgotten how to spell. I see I dropped the "z" from AlZheimer's. Hmm...seems I've been droppin' a lot of Zzzzzzs lately too! Another sign of old age?

formerlylavender 03-23-2003 11:25 AM

It was November of 1994, and he opened with If It Should Please You.

formerlylavender,
Didn't you just feel like kicking back and absorbing all of the atmosphere in the place!?!?!I love that song.
somewhere,
now we should all get worried about you, sleep deprivation is very worrisome at your age (which is also my birth year).
Rob56, that was the one song I had waited for and he didn't play it.
seahawk11, he played triangle but, later in the concert.

Hey, if my memory is going at "only" 46, God help me at 56! Since I hope to live to at least 76 I have some time to go. I just read that a bit of alcohol every day helps prevent the plaque in the brain that causes "oldtimers disease". I'm sipping on a Manhattan as I type.

SomewhereupinMichigan 03-23-2003 09:35 PM

In that case Rob...Here's to ya! Damn, now where did I put that bottle?
