some of the lyrics goes like this: every beat of my heart or love doesn't live in my heart. your sprit lives inside of me,and just remember love will take you home. i'm not sure about this hope it helps some.

This isn't ringing any bells...do you believe it to be one of Gord's songs?

well usually you can readily find a song by putting the known words (inside quotation marks) into the Google search engine, but of all the phrases you quoted only "your SpirIt lives inside of me" note not sprit or sprite produced a result fairly predictably that is found in a 2002 hymn. Maybe that was the one but the remaining lyrics are nothing like your other phrases

Could you provide a little more info as to what the time frame may have been for this song? 70s, 80s, 90s? The genre? folk, country, pop? It puts me in mind of Firefall's "Just Remember (I Love You)", though the lyrics you gave don't match up, other than Just Remember.

Would this be it?

The Way
Geoff Wells

I've come to talk with you my friend
Love's the message that I send
If you don't know what's going on
Everything just seems so wrong

If there is trouble in your life
Take the time to realise
That you will never be alone
Mother love will take you home

Hang on to your independence
To get you through the day
We all need a little help along the way

I feel the sadness in your heart
Always tearing you apart
Right now I'm reaching out my hand
I know your heart will understand

Chorus

Although the night is dark and cold
I send a message to your soul
That I've been with you from the start
And we will never be apart

Chorus

There is a song recorded by Rod Stewart and Gladys Knight, no sure who wrote it called Every Beat of My Heart. Here's a verse:

Seagull carry me, over land and sea
To my own folk, that's where I want to be
Every beat of my heart
Tears me further apart
I'm lost and alone in the dark
I'm going home.

Close but no cigar?

mhayes40 have you slid off the edge of the world. For goodness sake, put us out of our misery. There are a couple of suggestions here. Has somebody got it right? http://www.corfid.com/ubb/frown.gif

mHayes40,could you possibly be talking about Rod Stewart's,"Rhythm Of My Heart"? If so it came out in 1991,I forget the CD title but it was a big hit. Given the slight clues you gave,I think that might be it. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong but I can't think of another tune off hand. Hope I helped. Later! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif "Vagabond Heart"!! That's the name of the CD! I knew I'd remember! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
