For anyone in the Toronto area (hmmm, who might that be?), there's a "Riverboat Revival" show at Hugh's Room tomorrow night (Friday, June 22nd), celebrating the great songwriters and performers of the Yorkville music scene of the 1960s and 1970s.
Contemporary performers will pay tribute to Riverboat regulars like Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Gordon Lightfoot, Ian & Sylvia, Tim Hardin, Buffy Ste. Marie, Jerry Jeff Walker, Lonnie Johnson, Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn, Joni Mitchell, Steve Goodman and Phil Ochs. Heather Morgan will pay tribute to Lightfoot, and Norm Hacking to Steve Goodman. Norm contributed a song to the CD included with the new Steve Goodman biography by Clay Eals. For more details about the show click here. |
