I can't tell you where I saw it,because I don't remember. But I seem to remember there was a picture on the inside of one of Gord's albums of someone by this name.Does anyone else remember this,or is my memory incorrect?
If I'm right, what relation is he to Gordon Lightfoot? Lightfoot isn't really that common a name(as far as I know),so I figure theres some relation there. patybear |
No idea - his father was Gord Sr., and he has no brothers. Cousin? None of his sons are named Charles. It wasn't a caption under a picture of Gord and Pee Wee Charles, was it? As in "Charles, Lightfoot"?

Interesting question Paty
I suspect Annie got the correct answer but out of inerest I googled for: web and image results for"charles lightfoot" amongst 735 web results I spotted "Advanced Lesson Academy of Golf Program's founder and director, Charles Lightfoot, is a highly recognized African-American golf instructor whose teaching..." http://www.africanamericangolfersdig.../lightfoot.jpg and fascinating diary entries on http://chazlight.43people.com/calendar http://images.43things.com/profile/104877xl.jpg original caption:- "bought the hat off someone's head on the street..." such as:- "In 2005, Charles Lightfoot did 0 things, went 0 places, met 0 people, and consumed 0 products" and "Charles Lightfoot has given up on 3 things. take my dog camping 0 people ... Charles Lightfoot isn't working on any lists… yet" another result revealed a company for Char in the UK:- Charles Lightfoot Ltd Address The Glass Works and Stained Glass Studio Town Orchard House, Heywood Road, Brooklands City/County Sale, Cheshire "Product/Service Restoration of stained glass and leaded lights, and installation of protective window guards" And I liked this site very much http://anthro.palomar.edu/evolve/evolve_1.htm concerning:- "Early Theories of Evolution: Pre-Darwinian Theories" "The traditional Judeo-Christian version of creationism click this icon to hear the preceding term pronounced was strongly reinforced by James Ussher click this icon to hear the name pronounced, a 17th century Anglican archbishop of Armagh in Northern Ireland. By counting the generations of the Bible and adding them to modern history, he fixed the date of creation at October 23, 4004 B.C. During Ussher's lifetime, debate focused only on the details of his calculations rather than on the approach. Dr. Charles Lightfoot of Cambridge University in England had the last word. He proclaimed that the time of creation was 9:00 A.M. on October 23, 4004 B.C" I then investigated archbishop James Ussher (1581-1656) which result in turn led me to a site that informed me that the aforementioned worthy wrote in 1650 an obviously very learned tome:- "In the 17th century, two men are credited with coming up with a chronology of the Earth based on the Bible: James Ussher (1581–1656), Archbishop of Armagh (now Northern Ireland), and John Lightfoot, an Anglican clergyman and Hebrew scholar at Cambridge University. In Ussher's 1650 work, Annales veteris testamenti, a prima mundi origine deducti(Annals of the Old Testament, deduced from the first origins of the world), he traced the genealogies in the Bible and calculated that the Earth was created on October 23, 4004 BC at 9 p.m. Whereas, Lightfoot calculated that it occurred sometime around the autumnal equinox in 3929 BC. Ussher also estimated that Adam and Eve were driven from the Garden of Eden on Monday, November 10, 4004 BC." (I thoroughly recommend the site I found that on ..:- http://speakingoffaith.publicradio.o...ticulars.shtml lots of great evolutionary reading there including a famous 1925 trial in the US of A http://speakingoffaith.publicradio.o...rrow-thumb.jpg The Case of Evolution in America Attorney Clarence Darrow raises his fist while making a speech during the Scopes Trial of 1925. (Courtesy: Library of Congress) I also found a page of "racy" digital photogaphs with the following caption "Charles Lightfoot: "I've shoot quite a few beauties in my time as an adult photographer, but Nikol has to be in my top five without question. Not only does she have a tight body and amazing face, but her personality and that accent make you just melt. This was shot in Belgium at a friend's art studio.... a day I won't soon forget."" Here endeth today's photography, anthropology and religious studies lessons ladles and jellyspoons John confirmed agnostic Please anybody who replies try to keep any religious content extremely low key [ January 04, 2007, 11:53: Message edited by: johnfowles ] |
I got things a little bit mixed up.Let me explain.
If you look in the booklet for Gord's Gold you'll see a picture of Jim Gordon(he's listed as a drummer on Gord's Gold I)In my opinion theres a a resembalence between him and Gordon Lightfoot as they appeared at the time.I must have seen Pee Wee Charles' name and somehow gotten it mixed up in my mind to where I thought I saw the name Charles Lightfoot under Jim Gordons name. Oh Silly me! patybear |
