You may already know about this, but Ebay has a current listing those of you who collect vinyl lps might be interested in. It's a 6 lp set, item number 891731275 including ODR, DSR, Cold on the Shoulder, Sundown, Summertime Dream, and Don Quixote. The current bid is $4.95 for all six in "visually excellent condition" (the seller hasn't played them), the auction ends July 12. Check it out at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...item=891731275
By the way, I am not (nor do I have any connection to) the seller. Happy hunting!

I'd go after it myself, but with 4 kids (the youngest is 2) it's going to be at least another seven years before I play anything vinyl (Hey, Dad, how come your giant cd's make this weird noise when I scratch them with a pen?). Good Luck!

I love my vinyls! I have them all and often play them. There is something very special
about holding an LP, sliding it from its
sleeve and carefully placing it upon the turntable. Magic! And the sleeves were so
creative, so descriptive.

There's a shop locally called 'Vinyl
Resting Place' ... dont you just love that name?

Bring back vinyl, I say!

i also agree about vinyl. some albums sound better on vinyl whereas some are better on CD. the thing i've noticed is that CDs just get louder as you turn up the volume, whereas vinyl gets louder and "fuller" in sound.

hopefully we're not saying to ditch the final 4 on CD and bring out the vinyl instead!

"Vinyl Resting Place"!

That's the best name yet!
When I moved house from Scarborough to East York, the only thing I didn't discard was my GL vinyl collection. I just couldn't part with those records. It was a tie to that time before the music industry got involved with all the hi-tech stuff; which is ironic when you consider that Dream Street Rose was the first recording done digitally.
But you're right. When you crank up Endless Wire on lp, (I mean the whole album), it sounds much more crisper than the c. d. version.

I still want the Final Four!

All the best,
James Hill

Some interesting comments here regarding vinyl vs. cd. I just purchased "Endless Wire" on CD over the internet and must admit that it sounds as though engineers grabbed an old master and went crazy with high end equalization. Seems to be a lot missing on the cd in terms of wholeness of sound compared to the vinyl. DSR sounds close to the vinyl product I think. I've got two vinyl copies of DSR and both have a little distortion on "If You Need Me" and thus it was nice to get the CD version in this particular case.
