Hey everyone last nights concert will be a night I will definately remember. Gordon played alot of the songs we all know and cherish but it was the weather that made it so much sweeter.
The concert was mainly dry up until the half way point of the show where gordon and the guys take their half way through the show break. Just as Gordon starts to play the Wreck of the edmund fitzgerald lightning starts to light up the sky and the it started to rain a little. As soon as gordon and the guys came back to finish the second half it starts to pour. Before long the rain is blowing inside the pavilion where most of us are at. Let's just say the newer artists that are out today probably would have left the stage and ended the concert. Nope not Gordon he kept playing even when the sound system went down for about 3-5 seconds. Also the crowd went crazy during rainy day people. :) To me last nights concert was the best. Thank you gordon for a night I will never forget. That was alot of fun. |
Thanks for the little peek into your evening at the concert. Definitely one of those nights/experiences a person never forgets!

Thank you Christine! I can just imagine being there.....I bet it was magical. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Christine,
I went to the Seven Springs concert the night after yours and he talked a bit about the concert, the rainy conditions and getting wet on stage! |
I will definately not forget that concert. I realy felt bad the guys ended up getting wet. But like I said and another artist probably would have gone off stage earlier. ;)

Four great pics, you must have a good camera, Morning Glory. And the poet looks great, with that vest. I could follow him around every concert, night after night. He is simply the best of the best...Jesse.
Thanks for sharing those pics Morning Glory... Jesse. :) [ August 02, 2006, 04:19: Message edited by: Jesse -Joe ] |

Thanks for the pics, Mary. Did the venue have a unusually liberal photo policy or did you bend the rules a tad? :)

Same question as Sundown 17? Mary you took some really nice pics. On this last one, Rick seems to be looking as if something was not right.

He was waiting for someone to say "get off the stage before you get electrocuted!"
lol |
lol Maybe your right Char??? :D :)

Great shots, thanks for sharing...I couldn't get many from our seats, we were pretty far back and my camera isn't the best. I love the first one that shows how much that rain was coming down!
As for Rick's expression...early on in the concert it looked like a lot of the guys weren't satisfied with the sound balance. Once (I think it was during 14 Karat Gold) Gordon looked over to the sound-board guy and said, "Too much vocal!" I never could hear Terry or Rick too well. It might have had something to do with that. |
Blake, very nice of you to share that. I saw him in 1990, and when they did The Fitzgerald, Gord was making, weird faces at the sound man. I remember the drums were too loud. It's as if a young guy was at those drums, really pounding on them. But it was, Barry Keane. And when the song was over, the band all got backstage, and the poet genius, did 2 songs solo. I guess it was to bring the sound back to normal. He caught it, like a real professional. What a guy that Gord...

Jessie my camera is a Kodak Easy Share DX4530 (5 megapixels) it's ok, i guess for now :) Sundown, many people were taking pictures (with flash) so it was ok  It was pretty wild during the thunderstorm), and the precipitation was bad for their guitars! I remember there was power blip, as christine said, because Rick mentioned that later backstage. But the show went on regardless of the inclement weather. I still have to type up my set lists. http://myspace-131.vo.llnwd.net/0099...94551131_l.jpg [ August 03, 2006, 18:48: Message edited by: MorningGlory ] |
