Just a guess here, Fading Away. Maybe that walking in sneakers, doesn't make that much noise. So trying not to wake the sound sleepers?

makes perfect sense to me JJ...I imagine that is why they got the name 'sneakers' - because they don't make any noise when you walk/sneak around in them.

Almost all of the lyrics of "Finders Keepers" are from children's games and rhymes, so presumably this is a line from one of them, though it is unfamiliar to me, and I agree, the meaning seems to be that, since sneakers are quiet, you won't wake the sleeper (say, if you're trying to "sneak" out at night--thus the name of the footware). Now, as for passing the pie around at the spin-dry and whatnot, your guess is as good as mine.

It works if you're trying to sneak in, too. Believe me, in my teenage years, I had a lot of experience at that!

I know he mentions "getting you with the hose and spoiling your sunday clothes", meaning you get wet, and the while you're at the "spin-dry" (where you take your clothes to the dryer) he'll "pass the pie around". :confused: Don't know what he means by that, but I wish he'd write more songs like that...
