Unless there's been a last minute change, tomorrow is the day Gord has his (hopefully last) surgery. Let's keep our fingers crossed for him, think good thoughts and send a prayer or two (if you are so inclined) northwards.

Thats right, I wonder if we'll hear anything about the outcome. Everything has been pretty quiet from EMP. It will be a Gord day on the CD player for sure.

I will pray for Gordon's surgery and thank you for the reminder Auburn Annie:

Heavenly Father...we thank you and praise you for Gordon Lightfoot. You created him and have literally numbered every hair on Gordon's head. You know his coming in and his going out. You know the needs of Gordon's family. Father, let Gordon experience your salvation which includes healing for every need he has. Let him be in health even as his soul prospers. Let calmess and peace be the keepers of his close family members. Bless the medical staff and all those attending to Gordon...may they have a blessed and wonderful day. May wisdom, skill, knowledge and understanding be imparted to Gordon's surgeon(s). Let a garment of praise and prayer be the way of those who frequent this site and may your peace be in their homes.

Proverbs 9:11
In Jesus Name,Amen

Does anyone know what time he'll go into surgery????

That is beautiful, classicmixdj. Thank you.

Even though I do not share your conviction (and I truly wish I did) I shall be thinking of Gordon, with my own little prayer in my heart.

Brink. I think we should play Waiting For You.

(oops!...Sorry folks but, I typed too fast & sent a semi-blank message from an unregistered person called "Colorado"...oh well!)

Anyway....

Good Luck with the surgery Gordy.
I'll be sending bucketloads of "good vibes" your way--as always! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif
Everything will be alright.
I am confident that you'll be back "on the circuit" again singin' your heartfelt songs.

Hugs & Bright Blessings to you, your family, Barry, Ann & the Band...

Love,

Susan

To Classicmixdj: You said it all...Thankyou.

"He will cover you with His feathers,
and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.....then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For He will command His angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone...." PSALM 91

Is the surgery taking place in Hamilton?

Any word on his surgery?

I've heard nothing but didn't expect to - maybe when he's well past surgery and into recovery we may get a brief statement that he's recuperating. Most likely there'll be a blurb after he's released.

As for where, my guess would be Hamilton since the doctors there know his case better than anywhere else. Couldn't get through to the Hamilton Health Sciences site tonight to see if there was anything posted by the PR folks (likely NOT).

I bought my wife a ring for Valentine's Day
and Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald came on
the radio over the speakers in the Jewler's.
I decided it was a good sign from up above
and it turned out I was right. Melted my sweetie's heart!!!!!!!!

Anyway, Gordon is in my thoughts and in my prayers. I can't wait to see my first live performance. I will be checking often for good Gord news. If you have some, please share it with everyone!!!!

I know he'll be okay. He survived the worst and this particular "worst" is very serious but I know he'll pull through it with flying colors! I'll pray just the same. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif Bye.

"You're not alone in your impatience. After all our future concert going pleasure may have depending on this operation."

Well, neither we nor Gord will know how successful the operation has been for some time. First there's the initial post-op healing, and then some time to see how well the implanted muscles have "taken" along with gradual physical therapy. It may take a couple of months before the doctors know whether or not the results are what Gord's hoping for.

The office phone number in Toronto is 1-416-924-1146. Now I know they're not about to put out a press release every time the man passes gas, for heaven's sake, but maybe some kind soul in the office would confirm for fans that the surgery came off as planned and that things are progressing as well as can be expected.
