Lightfoot has written a handful of songs relative to his entire body of work dealing with socio-economic, political, or ecological issues and could therefore be considered "topical." Of these, what is your favorite? I'll start: "Too Late For Prayin'"

I love "Too Late For Prayin' but I also think that 'Circles of Steel' and 'Leaves of Grass' both sciological songs it seems to me. They are about wasted lives.

Sadly, once again in this turbulent time in history I find "Sit Down Young Stranger" to be relevant along with "Too Late for Prayin", "The Patriot's Dream" and "Summer Side of Life." And the painfully sad "Home from the Forest" also makes my heart ache.

"The patriot's dream still lives on today
It makes mothers weep and it makes lovers pray
Let's drink to the men who got caught by the chill
Of the patriotic fever and the cold steel that kills."

With the focus on our earth and the environment the words "Redwood Hill" are still poignant.

My favorites have already been mentioned, but I'll toss "Protocol" into the mix.

I'll add HHTD and DQ to the mix. (Shame on you if it takes you more than 5 seconds to decode those).

Jeez Val, it not only took me more than five seconds for the first one, I actually had to scan through my rows of CD's...
But it's a great choice :)

HHTD has gone through my head more than a couple times in the last few years.
