Has anybody been to a concert at Glenside? If so, can you recommend a good hotel? I have about a 3 1/2 hr drive.

We are staying at a hotel this time, too. Jbt found a link on the Keswick theater site - I think it's a 15 minute drive. I can't believe it's two weeks from tomorrow! I'm looking forward to it...

Hi Billw! |
Hi formerlylavender,
Say hi to JBT for us. We plan to be in Glenside early enough for dinner before the show. Don't be a young stranger. Bill :) |
From a review of this week's events in the Philly area at:-
http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/e...t/12367291.htm Note phily.com is one of those silly and pretentious media/newspaper sites that make you register before they deign to let you see their hugely valuable/confidential content. even sillier is the stoopid fact that to create a membership you use your email address then have to set a password that must include at least one character that is a number. Of course I forgot that irrelevancy and used my usual 8 letter password only to be given the boot so to speak. Determined to go where no doot Awesome Annie will soon be treading I read:- Thursday Good folk The great Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot hit a fine balance of folk and rock with hits such as "If You Could Read My Mind," and "Sundown" in the 1970s. (Everybody turns the radio up when "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" comes on - admit it.) He plays at 8 p.m. at the Keswick Theatre, Easton Road and Keswick Avenue, Glenside. Tickets are $38 and $45. Call 215-572-7650. John Fowles And now something different that I found while googling for "lightfoot lyrics balance" Fall, 1972. Toronto, Ontario..... I had been told on numerous occasions that Gordon Lightfoot lived in the apartment building right behind our offices. Many a time I wondered if I would ever bump into him, and in fleeting moments of daydreaming imagined his apartment where his head would be bent over sheets of paper as he created new songs. He was my hero....... His lyrics touched me deeply – his insight. He saw life and gave it to me in music - from the go-go girls on Yonge Street to the gentleness and wonder of nature, the pain and joys of love, human trials, and the old man who came home from the forest... His music still fills my home, and when I’m driving the roads of this wonderful country called Canada, his gentle voice and inspiring poetry follow me on twists and turns, over mountains and through valleys, around lakes, through forests and along rivers. Thank you Gordon. At last I can say it. Thank you for all you have given and will be giving - from your heart. You are truly a unique and wonderful being from a good read "Thank you Gordon Lightfoot" (written in 1996) at:- http://www.quillsquotesandnotes.com/...ril-may-04.htm |

If you're joining us all at Glenside we'll be eating at Athena before the show. Don't forget your corfid badge or hat or t-shirt, LOL. How about a nice group picture in front of the Keswick ? Now's not the time to be shy !
Bill :) |
I took down everybodys seat numbers so if you see a strange woman waving to you, it's just me. :)
