that's in the old Rosedale house on Beaumont Road...he was doing a TV interview if I remember correctly..

Yes indeed Char, it was for 'Heart Of Gold' {1982} on CBC. I have the entire show on TAPE/DVD all 3 parts. And a book that came out for that tv program. And that pic is in there.

He did a lot of interviews from that chair, in that old Victorian Mansion in Rosedale. Beker, M. MacKay, etc,,,

If you click on the photo to make it bigger and look very closely at bottom of his feet, you can see a model of the big boat 'Edmund Fitzgerald'

Must have been givin to him by some admire of " The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald". :)

Aaaah, yes that is a model of the Fitz!
Thats a nice picture. I like all the dark wood in the house. His expression is so intense! He kind of reminds me of an old fashioned sea captain in this picture. Love it! :)

I saw a clip a long whil back of him singing "My Love For You" on some Canadian Awards show.
Is that not the very same jacket he wore? :)

I think he should have worn that on the cover of either Dream Street Rose or Shadows. I like that house,it looks like it's straight out of a Frank Capra movie. (Just like an old time movie) ;) .

I really don't know why somebody couldn't have displayed this nice picture that you are all talking aboot.Admittedly the original on Wayne's site is way too large to display here but surely I am not the only one who can make and upload a reduced size displayable copy like this??!!
http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/images/red_jacket.jpg
That is a reduced size copy of the original very large jpeg on Wayne's site as referenced above
and yes it does look like the same red jacket Gord wore when the great clip "My Love For You"
mentioned by Walter Brodernotes was made and also featured in at least one interview video recording ( Ms Beker Maryln Mackay etc)
http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/images/My_Love_For_You.jpg
actually that was not a clip as such but the full song running for 3 minutes 10 seconds as an alternative to the somewhat longer version (3:37) that was included on the Harry Tracy soundtrack.
Does anybody (in particular the prominent corfid poster known as Jessie-Joe) know for a fact the actual occasion during which Gord sang My Love For You live ??
My Internet searches indicate that it might well have been the 1983 Canadian Genie Awards for which Les Pouliot was apparently nominated for Best Original Song (actually won by Burton Cummings for his 1982 song "Melanie")
http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movie...959&mod=awards
and
The 4th annual Genie Awards were held March 23, 1983 at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto
per:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4th_Genie_Awards
and
http://www.answers.com/topic/4th-genie-awards
Strangely Wayne Francis in his usually complete TV and radio listing at:-
http://www.lightfoot.ca/tvappear.htm fails to mention any such performance
yet demonstrably it took place
and moreover Gord's 1983 4 concert Massey Hall "season" began the following evening

It was at the 4th annual GENIE awards in 1983-Harry Tracey-Desperado was up for several awards..
and Lightfoot sang My Love For You sitting on a stool in front of the orchestra, wearing his red velvet jacket..

Hmmmm.....

I wonder what is on that piece of paper underneath his chair. Maybe it was a piece of sheet music that flew off the piano. Perhaps it was a list of topics to be discussed during the interview. It might even be a grocery list.

Hey Jean,

Char is probably right, I myself have never seen Gord perform 'My Love For You'. :)

Ton tres grand amis,

~Jesse~ :)
