I have been working to try to revise and complete my Lightfoot webring, and an early task was to relog back into the hub page at:-
http://q.webring.com/hub?ring=gordonlightfootw having done so I found that a number of advertisements have appeared since I last looked one is for Linus entertainment who will naturally of course feature in the ring when completed and an interesting one offering on the face of nirvana!! "Gordon Lightfoot Ringtone Get Free Gordon Lightfoot Tones. Every Song is Here. Get Them Now!" But going to their input page http://www.freeringtoneoffer.com/h/i...on%20Lightfoot headed 10 no charge ringtones in 3 easy steps featuring Gordon Lightfoot ringtones I am stuck as I do not possess a cell phone having given up my last (UK) mobile phone in 2000 so I must try it with Susan's number the final one just might interest anybody here bereft of a copy of the most brilliant box set ever issued by any artist period no argument "Free Gordon Lightfoot Set Gordon Lightfoot Songbook Box Set. Get It Free By Taking Our Survey!" OK I have no problem with any of those but Iadmit to being bothered when I realised that the other link was to "If You Could Read My Mind Hear a great, rockin' version of this Gordon Lightfoot classic. www.GaragistaMusic.com Nothing ventured nothing gained so I opened it up and got http://garagista-store.com/index.php...d=21&Itemid=27 2006 Garagista Music - "Home grown" music for adventuresome listeners. witha picture of a bright young man http://www.garagistamusic.com/images...Bettinelli.jpg and an intriguing caption:- "Drummer Ed Bettinelli has opened for coliseum favorites including Bon Jovi, Pat Benetar and Average White Band. Suspecting some vile scam I emailed to complain and received a reply with a new replacement link OK I tried this new link but what i then got was another 103KB file this time called download .php but again it merely said "This download has expired or is invalid." I complained again and very qiickly by return received a further email with an obvious 6.38MB mp3 attached later I received a follow up saying "Would you be so kind as to try the following download link? We're trying to determine why you had problems with the download." OK I tried this new link got was the same 103KB file called download .php My reply told them that surely the link should contain the correct name for an mp3 file in this case it would be RTR-04.mp3 so if anyone wishes to get it You may have to wait til they fix their link After all this was it worth it?? I'd say positively yes, I am interested bescause the Hudson River towns are quite near to me I have looked at Ed's site http://www.edbettinelli.com/ which makes no mention that I could find of Gord but has what may well be useful sample drumming examples to promote Ed's instructional plans but this will probably mean more to Gord Henman than me In his contact info are two NYC phone numbers so I just might give him a call I just tried both numbers shown on his site neither correct so I will email him to se if he is a fan and if so that he explains himself here As for my webring I have visiting family next week then August 3-5 is Gord concert time so it may be a while before I get back to the webring for which I have alresdy written most of the introduction John Fowles [ July 21, 2006, 15:33: Message edited by: johnfowles ] |
