Hi Y-All, I'm New Here
 

Hi There,

I'm brand new here. I've been poking around here for a couple weeks. I like what I see and have read and just wanted to say hi...so HI!

I've love Gord music and message since the late 70's I've seen him twice in concert in the late 70's out in Southern California, when I lived out there. It was truely a great time being in his presence! I've got tickets to see him April 4th when he comes to Cincinnati. I can't wait!!

Well, that's enough about me. Great to finally be here! :clap:

Thanks Jesse Joe. Thanks for the welcome. I've got one or two stories, especially after I see him in concert in Cincy next week. Gees, he hasn't been to Ohio since 2003 or so. Looking forward to it!

YES! I'm seeing Gord tonight here in Cincinnati. I can't wait! Like I think I said earlier, I haven't seen him since the late 70's, when I saw him at the Universal Ampitheater in Los Angeles. (twice) What I find that so interesting that so many Gord fans see him over and over again! Unfortunately, this concert tonight, I believe, is the first time he's been in Ohio since 2003. :clap:

I will definitely let you know how it goes. Hey, is there already a thread here for people to share their Gord concert experiences?

Hi Mr Moon, You Were Like Me The First Time I Saw Gl Was In 1976 And Then Saw Him Next Last September. You Will So Enjoy Seeing And Hearing Him Again, There Are Changes... But Don't We All Change? You Will Still Enjoy Him So Much. Have Fun!!

Wow you were at a Lightfoot concert in 1976, that must have been really interesting. I would have loved to see him in concert in those days. Summertime Dream days, The Fitz, and Never Too Close. Can you tell where was this concert ? :)

I saw him in Oklahoma City at that time. I know I enjoyed it and can remember it seems like he sat on a stool some of the performance, does anyone else remember him doing that at any of the older shows? It has been so long ago but that sticks in my mind for some reason.

I also saw Gord for the first time in the very early 70's...either '70 or '72. Just Gord, guitar and a folding chair at U of D in Detroit. The audience was in folding chairs also and I think it was in a gymnasium! I was going through a box of old memoribilia (?) the other day and came across the ticket stub from that concert. The price was $5.50!
Them were the gold ole days!

Them sure were the good ole days, you were privilege to have experience Lightfoot that way ! Thank's Kathy in Michigan.

I would have loved to see him in concert in the late 60's to mid 70's. John Fowles saw him in Montreal at the best of time, Expo 67 w/ Red Shea (Guitar) & John Stockfish. (Bass)

I have a clip of him doing "Did She Mention My Name" at The New Penelope in Montreal around that year (67). Burton Cummings & Randy Bachman were in the audience and they kept knudging themselves in the ribs saying one day that will be us... :eek: You can buy that DVD from Val's Site. Shakin All Over?

When I look at that young long blond hair kid, being so different than anybody else I was seeing in those days, it still today gives me goose bumps on my goose bumps. :biggrin:

Yes, I am still here. :biggrin: I feel the exact same way that you do. Even tho it seems like a lifetime from then until now I still see that same young man sometimes when I look. Yet, I also see him as he is today. I know that sounds strange but Kerstin really likes having a strange sister :)

Really is great to see you post again. Your sis Kerstin emailed me last week so I guess she mentioned a bit of our conversation. She was having trouble getting into Corfid, but from her work I think... Did you break your record yet of 12 shows I lost track. Gordie is at home now here in Canada, great new pics of him wearing blue, in Ottawa over the weekend, did you get to see them ?

I cant answer for June 12th, most likely not... have a great time and be well.. :)

Thanks for missing me. I have not broken my personal record of 12 concerts yet but am working on it. We have been to 9 so far this year and have plans to see 4 in June. That would be luky #13. I will let you know our plans when I have "our tour" set for the rest of the year. What would it take for Kerstin and I to get to meet you?

NO NO that's not all, A Private jet, Hotel Accom(m)odations Stretch Limo to take me to the Greater Moncton International Airport, and then another one to pick me up where your at... Lots of woman, wine, beer etc...

Okay, Jesse Joe, as soon as I finish the travel arrangements for Kerstin and Kathy I will see what we can do for you too. I understand the agreement and will work from there. I guess it wil be Kerstin's job to figure out the rate exchange. I will see if I have any Limo connections in that area. Will you be drinking chanpagne in the Limo?

Hi-All. Sorry I haven't been around lately. To answer your question Jesse, the concert was at the Universal Ampitheater at Universal Studio in Universal City near Los Angeles. I saw him there twice in the late 70's. What a master! That was when Pee Wee Charles was with the band.

I'll never forget, in the middle of one of those concerts, Gord asked if anyone had a fingernail clipper to fix his broken fingernail. There were two or three ladies who came up to the edge of the stage trying to hand him their clippers. Those were definitely the days...as these days will be in 20 years or so.

I think the coolest thing I saw Terry Clements do in one of those concerts was when he played his guitar like a mandolin during the instrumental on "Christian Island"...Wow! :clap:

12 Gord concerts a year. Sounds great...but my wife would kill me! :eek:

Well, been here long enough, gotta go.
