I'd say IYCRMM if for no other reason than I hear it so much on the radio. But that song
is so damned good that I never get tired of it. Whenever it pops on a station, I stop whatever I'm doing and just listen. Actually, I do that when any Lightfoot song comes on.

In the old days it was Sunday Concert (Live) and a blend of Don Quixote and Gord's Gold...made my own extra long tape using both record albums. Had to do it twice...wore the first one out.
Now it's East of Midnight, Dream Street Rose and Shadows. Still go back to Sunday Concert...now have the tape version...and my "Gold/Quixote" every now and then.
Just got Songbook...my very first CD(s). That's an overwhelming set! But such a great collection. He must have been one tired puppy going thru all his stuff and coming up with that one! Glad he did, tho.

I bet people who pass me on the highway must think I'm nuts or that I'm cursing up a blue streak. Anyway, I had a tape made from my LP's of Sundown and Shadows to keep in my car. It remained the only tape I listened to for quite a while until I traded in my car and switched to CD's. Then it became GG and GG2. I do have most of Gord's work on tape but am slowly acquiring them in CD's so I can
listen to them in my car as well. It sure was great when I got Songbook- ah, variety!

I feel I have listened to the song,"Carefree Highway" more than any other GL song. Mainly because I've lived in AZ for 25 years and it's always on Kool-FM and I've had it on a tape called "Mellow Seventies" since 1988!

It's only happened in recent years but I feel I've played,"IYCRMM" and "Sundown" equally,even more so since getting them on CD. :)

More than those two or the others though,would have to be "Songbook". The box set itself made me curious enough to buy it and after the first listen to all 4 CD's,I listened to it for months!
(Which as we know led to seeing him in concer a year later. ;) )

But I'll bite - for me it's DON QUIXOTE - then, now and always. With a couple of repeats of Second Cup Of Coffee for good measure. I like 'em all but DQ's my all time fave.

Gord's Gold is # 1, then DonQuixote, Summertime Dream, and Sundown.

Most recently -- the song "Harmony" as it is my 2 yr old daughter's favorite song.

I love the songs on songbook!Especially the cuts that didn't make it on the albums.
"Lifelines" for one.He's tapping into something mystical there.
"The Lost Children" from Sunday concert is a song that I perform every once in a while.
Red Shea s figers flying,newcomer Rick Haynes on the bass playing wonderfully,Lightfoot's Gibson 12string ringing true.I'm only 32,but I know of incredible music when I hear it!

The CD:"Harmony" is closing in on "Sundown" and "IYCRMM,for being played most.
Especially in the last (almost) year and a half. :cool:

"Salute" is still my favorite album. It is the one I told myself I will have him sign someday if I ever get to meet him. I first met Gord in 1999, and that's just what I did.

He said, "We had a lot of fun making this album."

I remmeber seeing Gordon on "Entertainment Tonight" in 1982 or '83 when they interviewed him about his upcoming LP. He had just been sober a little over a year and the voice over from Mary Hart said (not exact quote),"Lightfoot knows the business and he knows he needs a hit to stay on top!"

From the scens I recall,he was recording the title track. Interesting to see him then. :)

Waiting For You. There is now a scratch at the end of the song Restless, I have to go on a hunt for another copy....ARGH! I downloaded the whole CD into my computer some time ago, so I could make a copy, but I gotta have the real thing...sigh.

Some time ago Our Watchman said he had a few extra copies of WFY. You should check with him.

Interesting repost Border.I can say for sure that for the past 8 or 10 months or so,in my jeep,WFY has been spinning round and round.It will not eject.I am quite familiar with every song on this CD,and that is just fine with me
as it is a great CD.
I would have to say that"The Wreck" is the one that I have listened to the most times overall.Not because it is my favorite,tho it is one of many favorites of mine,that song still raises the hair on me neck and I never grow tired of it.Never will.
