Maybe I should have put this in a non GL releated segment but I hope Florian doesn't mind.
I have three children. Jackie (10), Steven (8) and Joseph (4). My son Joseph is being operated on tommorrow (June 15) at 7:15 AM(EDT). He is having open heart surgery. Joey was born with a hole in his heart and tomorrow they will sew it up. I ask you all for prayers. Joey is 4 years old. His favorite GL song is "Magnificent Outpouring"; he dances to it every time I play it. The surgery is being done at Univeristy Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Again, I am sorry for posting at this site, but then again I am asking for all of your prayers. thank you and thank you Florian, "take my hand and lead me as you choose it seems we ain't got much too lose." "If you love me make my world a better place to be" May God Bless You All...... Wes Steele ________ Honda CL350 |

You got it, Wes. We're all pulling for Joey and your whole family. I had heart surgery when I was 10. It was scary then (in the dark ages), but I had my family around me, and Joey does too. He'll be up and around in no time, having Hawaiian Punch sno cones, while we all have OUR choices of flavors LOL.
Best of luck, all our thoughts and prayers, too. ------------------ "the mornin' after blues, from my head down to my shoes..." ------------------------- "Laughing eyes and smiling face..." |

You got it, Wes.
Any 4 year old who appreciates "Magnificent Outpouring" is OK in my book! Joey's in our prayers. Let us know how it goes. |

Wes,
Joey is entirely worthy of any place on this board I am sure. Know that Joey is in my prayers tonight. |

Hi Wes,
You are right on topic here. You know that we all will be thinking about Joey today, and that everything will be fine. He will dance to "Magnificent Outpouring" sooner than you think http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif Just make sure you take that portable CD-player to the hospital. |
Wes, we're all thinking of you guys and knowing all will be okay. Hugs to you and your family and let us know how things are when you get a moment.

Just to let you all know ...
I called Wes tonight and the lady who answered the phone said the surgery went well. She said Wes will be back tomorrow. I'm sure he will post as soon as he can. |

Hi, all,
I got a phone message from Wes today. He wanted me to pass on the info about Joey to you all. The surgery went even better than they had hoped. It was supposed to take about four hours, but only took two. It was over just after nine o'clock in the morning. They took out all the chest tubes, etc. this morning and Joey has moved out of intensive care and into a regular hospital room. He will be going home probably Sunday. Wes was really beat today. He spent all night at the hospital last night (slept on the floor). He only came home to get a bit of rest while his wife stays with Joey. He's going back tonight. So he probably won't be on the computer until Sunday at the earliest. He just wanted me to let you all know that it went well and he wanted me to express his thanks for all your prayers and support. Stay loose, eh? LAMS |

JOEY IS HOME...
Joey was doing so well that they sent him home. We arrived home at 4:00 pm. I have to be honost and say that we spoiled him a little with toys. His favorite toy is the toy lawnmower that spits out bubbles. He just loves it. Can you imagine this...On Thursday morning he was having open heart surgery and Saturday afternoon he was pushing a toy lawn mower around that blows bubbles. I am overwhelmed from the responses from you people. Because of your prayers, it made this whole thing go a lot easier. I will write more later....I'm beat. Wes |
Wes, I have been gone for a few days and am just now learning about Joey and his surgery. I am glad that he is home and doing well. Being a pediatric nurse for many years, I have cared for many critically ill children, and sat with quite a few families while they wait out those frightful hours while their little one is in surgery. My thoughts are with you and Joey and your entire family. I wish him a speedy recovery!
Sleeping on the floor? I wish the hospital staff could've given you a cot or recliner to sleep in. I know how it is, though, we will sleep anywhere if it means being close to our children when they need us. Plus, I am sure you wouldn't have gotten much sleep, even on a cot. Hope you can catch up on your beauty sleep soon! Anne |

Wes,
I'm so pleased that Joey is home and doing so well! This must be a great relief to you and Maria. Rest up 'cause we hope to see you back at all the cyberspace hangouts soon. Janice |

In a word - Yow! All right! Joey can come over and do my lawn any old time he wants! Get yourself rested and God bless. Steve |
