the Lightfoot Suite - what should it include?
 

relatives were checking out Orillia retirement offerings and came upon this one

if you click on the right "Lightfoot" selection you can see the layout

I wondered what what furnishings/decor/etc would make this truly Lightfootesque? I was thinking a Boathouse should be closeby:)

also, I surely know of Leacock and a few Canuck explorers listed plus Tudhope rings a bell but wasn't sure if the other Room namesakes were other well-to-do locals?

I remember several years ago on a drive around Orillia and seeing the different 'senior residences' in the area and telling the kids that I could stay in a nice place up there when I get old as long as it was facing the water and was painted a nice soft yellow..

The Lightfoot suite at 1220 sq.ft. is a nice size..2br.and 2 full baths..nice..
amazing price for all the way up there tho..sheesh..
Orillia gets way tooooo much winter for me...

not sure what I'd want in the suite other than a guitar and Lightfoot himself..

I've seen that those canoe shelve units have become quite popular but i've never seen one in any shade of yellow as of yet

Yikes!!!.... Seniors like canoes should be allowed to grow old with dignity.
Sadly journeys by both are far too short and inevitably will end...

Thanks Pam, Planter or Bookshelf I guess are not so bad, but I'd rather see the craft on a body of water. Retirees aren't dead yet! Let them canoe!! It'll keep them young. Seniors should be able to canoe Peaceful Waters to get to The Bend In The Water and catch a Rainbow Trout for supper?

my grandmother lived in a building that was for 'retired' folks..omigoodness..the shenanigans that went on..it was non-stop activities/events/outings..
1 man to about 10 women..oh yeah..we're talking shenanigans..it was like high school all over again!

The seniors chronic care place my uncle was at let him have his own beer fridge..with beer!
The buildings for older folks whose families are grown and gone are bought or rented out and there are no restrictions on their lifestyles..perhaps in a gov.run seniors home there are rules such as no alcohol. generally those places are for older folks who are ill tho..more like long term care but not in a hospital..

Those two things, in maybe 3 years or so from what GL says, may be available...lol...

But...
Your additional overhead in your budget of the Learjet & pilot, alimony/palimony that puts a dent in him...& the sailboats, etc might run you a bit of green....lol....then of course there's the band... they are glued for life out of loyalty,...they might very well, whenever Gord made an overture to you, Rick could cut in with a nice lead acoustic artistic riff, but then sometimes when Gord has something to say that he maybe forgot about or something, Rick would forever be standing in the corner with a dropping bass note to punctuate what ever the OH GOD thing Gord brings up he ..sorta forgot about.... that we all forget about sometimes, like that darn check to the Amazon Fund.....neerm goes the bass in the backgroud while you re calling out "allRIGHT eNOUGH of the soundtrack fellas" lol it might get crowded.. snicker

lol GOOD ONE Ron....after it reads : 'Is There Anyone Home' it could add in todays eco-and-energy-efficient-frenzy - "In This Suite Warmed by re-cycled seat-cushion Polyurethane Foam" and now that Sean Connery is retired from movies, and only doing expensive photo-shoots for Rolex manly-man watches, wearing new 2 - $3,000 men's clothing outfits in GQ etc., new but made to look worn out, he very well might be next door adding "I think I Hearrrd, Someone Shtirrr, Not Shake'.......

i didn't see anything like that at her website...i thought she was mainly into musical handbags:)

when i was young there was a friend who had a mother who was always working in the basement painting or glazing those large cement elves or whatever...if ever he and his mom would go upstairs for something i would be close behind...i surely would not be found down there alone...years later we were teens and came home late all tipsy...i fell over one on the lawn and was out like a light for a long few seconds...when i came to, there were two gnomes staring at me wearing grins....real teen horror flick material i tell ya...agh

i think the little lantern guys are no longer politically correct, no?

we have distant neighbours with those pink cranes...i suppose they could eventually grow on you, lol...oh well, no offense intended, jr:)
