The audio isn't perfect, but someone might like watching this.
Here are the lyrics if anyone's interested: 23 23 seconds, all things we love will die 23 magic, if you can change your life Your tainted heart, my tainted love, repent now How many times ? As long as you live, how many times ? The world will go around He was a friend of mine, he was a son of god ... he was a son of a gun 23 seconds, in you I see a chance 23 magic, if you change the name of love Your crazy heart, my crazy love, repent now How many times ? As long as you wish How many times ? The world will go around How many times ? As long as you want How many times ? The world will go around He was a friend of mine, he was a son of a gun ... he was a son of god 23 [Thanks to Shannon for these lyrics] ... and one with better audio: |

Recently you had the passing of Alex Chillton of The Box Tops.
Here's a rare one from them. Not too much of a jazz person but I found this particular one I like. Silver. C&C Basketball Jones. |
Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
i am glad the thread is active bit i must say, the definition and scope of what i meant by a video has broadened...but better that we are broad than narrow minded:)
back to some videos that have been storyboarded as part of the preproduction process and then filmed and then had the magic applied (i like a video to stand on its own merits but some CGI in moderation is fine, imo) in post production: these 3 are nominated for Junos this year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmmbD...ayer_embedded# (this actually aint the one i know of as her nominated video but i will post this version anyhow...this version doesnt seem like anything special but nice tune, and a quite hearty vocal) YouTube- Serena Ryder - Little Bit Of Red and this is one is for those looking for something a bit darker: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m53--...ayer_embedded# |

Her name is An Le. Some here make reconize this song though Dylan, though she performing another version of it by Adele, who I don't know much about though I'm familiar with only one of her songs. Check out some of her other stuff, she sings well. |

A group out of Houston TX. and apparently their only top 40 success. However they recorded other songs, including one called "Superman", which "REM" had a hit with in the 80's. |

the Superman song reference had me reflecting on another composition that was always an old fave (lovely piano key) by some canuck dummies: ...chinese kindergartens sure could use a safekeeping superhero about now...horrific |
Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
Someone told me years ago this song was about the lead singer's troubled relationship with his Dad and they never really patched things up. |
Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
Hey Affair, I hadn't seen this video, but I love this song. I tear up whenever I hear it on the radio. It's the finality of it all...so sad.

just a minor note (i'm a big old, old Genesis fan and like some of their solo ventures): the lead singer is Paul Carrack not Mike Rutherford - Mike co-wrote the tune with another writer who had also lost his dad recently....Mike plays bass btw, Carrack also did some solid live vocals on Hey You (the David Gilmour part) for The Wall- live in Berlin, Roger Waters production...a quality video ...i believe Mike and the Mechanics first release was Silent Running...Rutherford used Carrack on vocals for that one also |

Affair, thought you might dig this eastern and cheerful gal:
she has her moment and nice tone along with solid phrasing your old friend (who looks like the Hi School Musical latino) also tried this pop tune and does ok but needs a guitar tuner for starters...but she sings the tune better than the original artist also...most do |
Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
speaking of Swift, it seems obvious that her dueling girlfriend tune and especially video was ripped from Avril's earlier effort...that Avril sure is spunky, punky and sassy...i've never seen her videos til just browsing earlier
she pays the dual girlfriend roles (same concept Swift's people went with...i guess that was the video that got the disturbed Kanye guy all in a huff...maybe he had a point, lol) GL was right though, Levine has some good little tunes...too bad she and her Evan guitar guy split (no, i don't mean the old sum41 hubby guy)...young talented duo |

Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
Is this stupid or what?
The song's nice though. Of course I still don't quite get the song. I know they're saying gold's not everything but where does Califonria come in on this? |

In the last century, California has become the entertainment capital and people flock there with dreams of becoming rich and famous in show business, but just like in the gold rush days, many if not most of the young dreamers find out that its not that easy. So the gold represents the hopes of those who come to California seeking their fortune, and the phrase, "All the gold in California is in a bank in the middle of Beverly Hills in somebody else's name," is a caveat to all the hopefuls out there, warning them while there is fortune in California, its controlled by someone else and it will not come easy, and odds are not at all, and you might just wind up with dashed hopes and broken dreams like the Gold miners of 1849. |

This was a Detroit group in which a couple of the members would later go on to form The Grand Funk Railroad. |
