Ron (lighthead2toe)I can surely understand how you felt with what you have posted about that Martin GL Signature. Enjoyed reading your post, especially the part about, "Just running a fingernail across the strings would make the bones in the skull vibrate." Very well said man. :)

Hey Val,

Gord chose a great place to sign your guitar, you now definitely have a priceless gem.

(The top grain is very tight, often an indicator of good sound (it is, of course, an indicator of a very old tree). You are lucky indeed. :)

If any what popular male and female artist would you like to see play that guitar ?

For me it would be Gord of course, and then Doyle Dykes, and female maybe Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez... :)

Glad to know you enjoyed it Jesse Joe. Maybe in Nov 2009 we can do it all over again and hopefully you can be there to join us. RJ.

I wasn't involved in the 2006 jam, but watching the video and comparing to the 2008 version, I think it's a better format to have individual performers come up and do their renditions with whatever accompaniment they see fit than to have, say, 15 guitars and mash of voices all playing the same thing. Just my two cents on it, for what it's worth ...

thanks for the explanation...interesting, a piece of art, a collector's item...so while Ron has a wonderful and cherished Mickey Mantle, you've basically got yourself a Honus Wagner...it sounded real nice

A question for you Ron, since I think you may be able to answer this...

Do you know the type of Amp Gord uses to plug his Martin D 18 ? Ive seen it on stage a lot, I know it's a Fender, but do you have the specific type its pretty large 2 speakers ?? Would appreciate this info very much. :)

This is John Stinson singing "If You Could Read My Mind". {Very good performance for the video}, "Live" must have been awesome.

What happened to Mr.Stinson ? I don't recall seeing a post from him since the big event in Toronto. Don't tell me the ax murderers got him.....or was it the Guiness......

Thanks for your kind words Jesse Joe. Val's GL D18 isn't shown here but we did use it for "Home From The Forest." I'm not sure if that portion of the pub jam was videotaped. Ron.

Thanks again Jesse Joe. We sure did have a lot of fun and hopefully added something to help entertain the folks who traveled from different parts to be in attendance at the Massey concerts. Ron.

Good looking pub from the outside, must be great indoors.

Cool pic of the pub Char. Paul McVeigh is an avid golfer and on the top floor he runs his golf portion of the business and takes care of the entertainment end of things at night. He's a great guy and was very obliging to work things out with us when we approached him about the sessions. It's been a family run business for many years and a sort of landmark in that part of town. The location for us was a big factor as it is well within walking distance to Massey Hall. Mr. McVeigh Sr. still does his thing there during the day and can pour you up a mighty fine pint of Guinness. I always look forward to making a visit there when I visit good ol' TO. Ron J.
