I was wondering if ALL the strings were taken off a guitar at the same time. I've been told that that isn't a good idea......one at a time is preferable. "I don't know, but I've been told".........

It is a rumor........ Like an urban legend....take em all off and don't worry about it.

yes - I am "stringless'..no need to boil anything..or remove things one at a time..as Billyboy says..take 'em all off at once..

Thank you ! All these years of "fretting" (no pun intended) over nothing.

Sorry for your personal loss, John...I trust you've been on the road or busy since Massey but wondered if you will be at the service in Aurora today...take care for now

Hi,

Yes I was there in Aurora on Friday at the morning service. Very sad days.

"This time tomorrow we might all be packed and gone..
I believe its best we carry on.."

My new friend Paul Bartlett (who I met at the Pub Jam at McVeighs May8) and I are playing 12 GL tunes tomorrow at the Canadian Legion Hall 444 in East end of Toronto tomorrow. Both Paul and I are two of Red's many students.

Best

Wonderful news John. Red would be very pleased. You are both very talented guys and I am very honored to have met you both and got to play tunes together with you at the same time. If it was physically possible at all I would be there tomorrow to catch your show. Sincerely, Ron J.

We're going to keep singing these GL songs till we get all the words right and in the right order.

Another night at a Canadian Legion.

Saturday May 2, 2009
Royal Canadian Legion Hall
105 Industrial Parkway North
Aurora, Ontario

I hope some corfidians can make it out. Everyone is welcome... all 6000 members of corfid. Now wouldn't that be a grand site to see. If you are all busy...at least the room acoustics would be better LOL

Paul Bartlett will play lead guitar. He and I met last year at the May Jam sessions in Toronto. We have worked up quite a few tunes over the fall and winter(we video taped a few song practices on YouTube..if you're interested ).
(we didn't try my favorite..Uncle Toad Said...but we should have)

I still hope to make it to Sugar Creek. lol ..but seriously.

tx to all lightheads

Shoot! Wish I lived closer...I would love to see you play live sometime :)

Stop making fun of Sugar Creek...lol. If you come, you could use your canary yellow canoe :)

Hope you have a great turn out and a good show, John.

You're a longtime corfidian...and for that I also say tx...

john

looks like you're getting lots of hits, great stuff! it's caught on

the May gig sounds great, i do have a conflict at present

the videos of you rehearsing are great as there are no heads interfering or folks talking during your playing...i could really improve those with a taping session (multi angle, etc)

i love I'm Not Supposed to Care addition...is there not a solo in there? it would be nice to hear some lead solo work, i'm not sure what songs that you've posted have solo breaks...i do like that in general however, Gord arrangements keep instrumentals to a minimum

Legion crowds are big drinkers so as much as many GL fans love the ballads there will have to be many toe tappers i suppose...i had a stag at a Legion and it was hard to stay sober when those cute little drafts were like $.75:clap:
