Hey Sierra!

Come on back! I've really enjoyed your posts. :0

SilverHeels 04-27-2003 02:43 PM

ooops ... that last post should have carried a big grin! Where'd it go? LOL

Borderstone 04-27-2003 03:13 PM

Sierra,I know he doesn't actually live there anymore (otherwise I could hardly call myself a knowledeable Gordon Lightfoot listner and or fan.) I was referring to the fact that he is there right now and also, what better place to see him than his own hometown? Don't worry about us "burning" you, whatever that means,we're all just friendly GL fans! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif It's been me and I'll see you on the flipside of Sundown! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I think as long as we're kicking this one around is that a lot of us are scared that he will never perform in public again, that his singing voice may never be the same again. I don't care if he misses every other note myself but the casual fan often posts here that " I done seen him and he ain't the guy I seed in 1969, nor sirree ". No one who posts regularly here is a "casual" fan by anyone's definition. So I guess the root cause or "attraction" of the private party/concert idea is that even if he's not up to par most of us would pay 4 or 5 times of his "old" ticket prices just to get our hands on one more. But I hope he gets back on the road and we can all meet, many of us have BTW, at a public concert. If we do I would hope you would come up and say HI, we're all pretty safe.

I think it is fair to say that if you admire someone, you would prefer to be around them in a more intimate environment. I do not think it to be elite or wrong to want a private concert. It's no different than driving down a lonely road, without another car in site. It simply has a different feel than bumper to bumper rush hour traffic.

Sierra,

Interesting. I can't help but wonder if some of these people are actually regular posters but are too afraid to post certain comments under their regular names.

Is it a spell to help alleviate TheWatchman's paranoia? I think I catch the drift of the 'born once' tag but the little symbol dohickey has me stumped too, LOL.

BILLW

TheWatchman 04-29-2003 05:37 AM

What?? Who said that? Why is everybody staring at me? Who's out there? Is there somebody staring at me? That little spell must be working. I already feel better. Pheewww.

Either it was one heck of a spell or horse was just trying to type of smilie that didn't work. Maybe it's just a coinincidence. Either way, thanks for the help. The voices in my head are just a silent whisper at this point. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
