I just looked back at this for the heck of it and I realized a couple of things. 1. I finally understand the title:I've uncovered my face or "broke cover". 2. I should have held up a Gordon Lightfoot CD or LP in my hand! Duh! 3.the picture's slightly green shade. Must be the lighting...or that i visited the Palo verde nuclear plant that day!! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif (Kidding.) Right the "WB" (Walter Borderstone) you more or less sussed it out Actually My UK Collins Concise English Dictionary says as part of the definition of the word cover: "28.break cover. To come out from a shelter or hiding place" this is thus the opposite of "27.take cover. to make for a place of safety or shelter" which brings back memories of a 1944 German air raid and running to my grandfather's air raid shelter buried under his lawn, and seeing a house next morning up the road with its roof blown off quote:Originally posted by Borderstone: .Aurevoir! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif [/b] what's with the francais monsewer ------------------ My Gordon Lightfoot webring starts at http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/lightfoot [This message has been edited by johnfowles (edited April 21, 2004).] |

Anyone who tracks me down will be able to take my picture and post it on here with my permission. But, you've got to find me first. I've heard plenty of those stories how rapest get into chatrooms and pretend to be other children and then they find out info. about where other children live and then they go and rape them. For anyone like that out there, you'll never find me. But, "you are welcome to try if you like"...

I was breezing through the internet and found this site and then at random clicked into this section. I'm a Gorodon Lightfoot lover from way-way back (1968 to be exact) and always thuoght ole' Gordy was a rugged handsome brute! The guy at the top of all this here,Borderstone is it?,I got to say if I was about 20 and then some years younger,I'd be making my move! You are a downright looker! You're most likely taken though. I'm teasing,I've been married for 32 years. If I were younger and single, wooh! I have to say you have a lot of guts making yourself public on the internet! Nice to see there's still a following out there for Gordon,he deserves it more than anyone. Well,I'm going back to sleep, from North Dakota Good-day ay?

Depending on how fast he reads, your going to make his day for a few seconds and then ruin it when he finds out how 'old' you are.

Am I correct or what?? John Fowles [This message has been edited by johnfowles (edited December 30, 2004).] |

Thank you, Borderstone. John, all I have seen of you is a picture that I don't believe is quite recent. I think you have what is called a "Prince Valiant" style hair-do. Post a new one -- of you and Susan - perhaps a wedding pic??

I very recently displayed this striking picture taken in Sherborn near Boston (no "e" on the end as there is in my UK birthplace of Sherborne, Dorset England back in October. Now like most attractive ladies Susan is averse to having her pic on public display (let alone the highly imagined chance of thereby risking identity theft, death by an axe etc! so you will have to quiz her in the chat room one week!! http://johnfowles.org.uk/Sherborne/sherbornInn.jpg John Fowles **Yes I am very gray/grey/white but only have a little thinning at the back |

Well Amie, when it comes to the opposite geneder...even though I've tried in the past to play it "cool" http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif,it always happens when one compliments me,I can't help but to blush about it! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/redface.gif

Well,Amie when posting a message in the big white box like I am now,all you have to do to put the proper emotion symbol where you want it is to click the option called "Smilies Legend".
This is located to the left of the box and will go to a seperate window showing the different smiley face emtions. You then choose one and follow the example next to it. I've done this so often,I don't have to look anymore. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif Good luck! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif ...& yes,I have been told by those ladies that I'm "adorable" when I turn color! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/redface.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif ------------------ "A knight of the road, going back to a place where he might get warm." ;) - Borderstone |
Amie! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Did my advice help you on the smilies? Just wondering! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif

Okay,I moved this to the front to see if Zoneranger could make a "Borderstone" LP/CD cover from it. Do your stuff man! :) We'll be waiting.
|
This may kill two birds with one stone. Another thread has asked if something related to Gord's work had the effect of bringing me to tears......
Until now I couldn't think of anything. I sense this has to be a chance...... |
Okay,I'm just bringing this topic back up,because in the Small Talk section,we have the topic about twins.
Now,someone told me I resemble (overpaid :D ) actor Michael Keaton. I honestly don't see it or agree. Put it to a vote like the GL songs,I guess. (For the record,I always thought I looked like a young Clint Eastwood. :) ) "Ya wanna say that again, punk?! Uh oh! It's Clint! I don't think he liked my joke. Gotta run! |
